Presenting my third effort: 'The Mythical Creatures Exhibition'.
As before, the page and downloads are here, along with a PDF CD cover.  It prints out beautifully on a decent colour laser - the colours tend to bleed on an inkjet though.

http://www.dougtheeagle.com/mce.htm

Most of these songs have been mentioned in my main music thread, but those which haev been posted were all test versions.  These are the final mastered versions.

This is the track listing, with explanations:

1. ZooCity
This is a homage to Equidna's webcomic.

2. Beings and Creatures
This is inspired by the mutual paranoia of DMFA, and one of the first songs where I've really be able to nail the 1970s sound, IMHO.

3. Crystaltopia
Inspired by James' fledgling webcomic.  I'm not sure if it's still active or not.

4. Evermore
This is a Poe-inspired poem by E_Voyager set to music.

5. Vampires In Reverse
This was supposed to go on the first album, but got pushed off.  Then it was supposed to go on the second album but it got pushed off that too.  Fans of the Radio Project may notice that I cannibalised it to provide Abel's Theme, although the version used for Abel has a subtly different series of chords.

6. The Dark Revenge of Jakob Pettersohn
This is based on the central story behind my character.  This story was expanded in to the 'Chronicles of Jakob Pettersohn' series which can be read here or on my DeviantArt account.  James Starrunner plays the guard bringing the prisoners.

7. Project Dragonsong
I always wanted to make a single long song, if for no other reason than to make the Mastering Engineer cry.  As with 'A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers' and other songs of this kind, it is a little patchy, although it does have some nice moments.
Guest vocals by Allyxa and Slipdance.

I'll be uploading this to Jamendo fairly soon - for now it's on my website.  Thanks to James, Kitome and especially Turnsky for the artwork.

Ach, you don't have a RAR of the thing?

This may require actual effort to download.  :<

That would make it kind of nasty for people who just want to check out a track or two, people on slow links etc.
I don't have space to spare for two copies of it, but if someone else is happy to provide hosting space, I'm sure it could be arranged.  It will also be on LastFM shortly.

I could .rar it up and host, if you didn't mind.

Sure, go ahead.  I can add a link to the site.  My sole proviso is that you include the PDF along with the MP3s.

I don't know why, but I particularly liked the 'Creatures and Beings' song.

Thanks, much obliged.  I've added it to the download page.

Yes, it's one of my favourites too, although the lyrics do creep me out a bit.  Which is awkward because I wrote them.  The chorus is taken from the original version of the song, a tape-to-tape transfer which was pure hell to make work without the synchronizer.  Adding the flanging effect took four decks all running together.
It would have been better to have rerecorded it but for whatever reason I was unable to hit the high note any more  :<

Er, no, my fault, but could you not do that?

Sorry for forgetting to mention that.

When it finishes downloading, it'll be at http://llearch.net/misc/dte-complete.rar

Link away. You may want to note that it's a DSL line, and as such may be a touch slow for 61Mb files...

It does if you're in Wales, in which case it's pronounced something like 'Tleeark' >:3
Fixed though.

groovy, i'll nab it as soon as my bandwidth returns to normality...

that said, i'm still pretty pleased with how that cover came out.

Dragons, it's what's for dinner... with gravy and potatoes, YUM!
Sparta? no, you should've taken that right at albuquerque..

Ouch.  Is that the infamous 1GB-per-month cap?  Or just something big downloading in the background?

That it did.  It does a splendid job on the laserjet as well.
My one and only regret has been that the original PSD file made GIMP go weird, forcing me to buy Photoshop  >:3

I have a question about the lyrics in the "Beings and Creatures" song. What is being said in between the lines, 'Take my advice, and go find a feline.........your demon friend can marry someone else's clan/class'?

True, but buying it increased the total cost of the cover twentyfold  >:3

It says "Download the beautiful booklet thing which contains all the lyrics"

Actually I'm rather embarrassed about that line and would rather not quote it.  The answer can be found here though:  http://nice.llearch.net/dmfa_forum3131.htm

Hey Tapewolf, I've got an idea. When you first posted the music, you could listen, but not download, then you got Bill or llearch to add an option to actually download, correct?
Well, if you're fine with people downloading your music to listening to it, would you also be fine with the possiblility of people downloading and using your music? (of course, giving you credit)
If so, why don't you upload your music--all of your music--into the Audio Portal at newgrounds.com? They can go there for all to hear, and if one so desires, they might even use your music in a flash animation or game (which is considered a great flattery over there) Wha'dya think?
Avatar:AMoS

llearch n'n'daCorna

Er.

When he posted, you could download. I know, because that's what I did.

What Bill and I added was merely some storage space to park the 30Mb "full album" copy, since TapeWolf lacks the space to store both that and the individual files on the server at the same time.

... I'll leave responding about Newgrounds to himself, though. ;-]

I've not been to Newgrounds much - to be honest there was something oppressive about the site layout.  Would the music have to be run through one of those horrible flash players?
