Ah, Fae shenanigans.  When they lack a knowledge leads to people dying in some horrible way or another.
I believe in folk lore starvation a common theme.  I could be wrong though, it's been ages since I looked at folklore of any sorts.

At least Mab doesn't own any red caps.

Is it me or does Mab sound a bit like Albanion/Nutmeg?  Nutmeg in disguise said pretty much the same thing in explaining Fae deaths.

That did occur to me, too.

Well, Abel's description of creating things through magic said complex objects are too hard to create to be practical- perhaps making puppets is much more complex that it is worth. A random piece of wood would be easier to create then shape it into puppet shape.

Well sure she could magic up some puppets, but it's just not the same! It's like how a little kid's toy breaks and he doesn't want a new toy of the same type because he has so many fond memories attached to the old one.
