Hmm, I just had a thought. What if we made this thread like the Random Huggles thread? We could send a PM to the recipiants with a message like this:

Happy Birthday to you!


This way, the Birthday Thread will actually reach the hundreds of users who don't visit it, like the Huggles Thread, and we can give out a nice Happy Birthday gesture to everyone, not just well-known people.

I think it probably edges over into stalking.

Random hugs are just that, random. Watching for people's birthdays and jumping on them on that day is a little creepy.

IMHO, anyway.

That's understandable, though I would be fairly certain in saying that the number of people who would actually think that if they were to get messages from well-wishers commending the date of their birth would be on the low side. We could just do the same thing as Random Huggles, if someone doesn't want happy birthday messages, they can just say so.

So far, only llearch and HazMatx have voiced opinions about actually sending Happy Birthday PMs to recipiants. I really need a general consensus before I make a decision, and I probably can't do this alone regardless (It probably WOULD be creepy, if all the PMs were coming from -just me-). Is there no one else who will answer the call?
