On a side note, this thread gave me a good idea for a senior prank for about half a day. (Mind you, I'm only a freshman yet, but I'm still thinking about it. ) I had the idea that I would come in in a fursuit and randomly hug people. Then I realized that that's considered assault in my region. Oh well.

Assault? Here it may be considered annoying, crazy even. But no one would feel it like an assault.

Meh. Not the kids at my school, maybe, but someone would tell their parents, and some overprotective parent would want to press charges. If the school didn't see it that way first. Probably "forcibly touching" falls under the category of assault, but it sounds creepy when you say it that way.

Which is why I gave up on that idea.

Then if someone pats your back from behind, it is assault too? Because it is forcibly touching.

Odds are, no one would find a pat on the back to be...yiffy, where as hugging might, by some people.

But, come to think of it, I haven't actually read the NY State/USA federal laws pertaining to this. It might be in a sort of gray-zone. But that I actually mentioned this plan means I'm not going to do it. If I find something that actually is lawful, I'm not going to post anything about it. All too easy for someone to find me. Ya' know...it ruins the surprise.
