Like I said, being a mod is not a popularity contest, and allowing users to "vote" for mods would A) be degrading to the candidates and B)end up with people voting because they like a particular person or dont want to hurt their feelings...not because they feel they'll do a good job.   Being a mod isn't about how well-known you are so much as how good you can do a job...and that doesn't require an election so much as an interview from the company hiring.

Voting always goes sour, and can potentially turn into a flamefest, so I'm not at all surprised. I know there are several people on the forums who I would rather shoot than be seen in public with (and I will not mention names, nor confirm any suggestions (and don't even try asking me about everyone just to see who I don't[/i] deny)) but that doesn't mean I let them know it. I know for one I would nominate myself, at least for mod of the RP forums.

Remember, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Besides, if it's taken on votes then you get people whining and bitching about how they didn't win the votes when "they should have" and then it all turns into a big mess.

Bill probably has toxic banning gas. It's why he has the gasmask you know.

well, I tried, but 15minutes per smite doesn't lend itself to rapid repetative stress. And I just can't see RJ Smiting. Snuggling, cuddling, yes. Smiting? More like looking cute and asking everyone else to smite for her.
