...didn't she bother getting proper intel beyond the kill mission? I mean, it isn't like her several-generations-removed great grand aunt was an unknown factor. Seriously, how narrow was her tunnel vision that she missed an ENTIRE MONARCH?!?

Yeah, her plan was to hunt down Admaria later just to be sure. It's unclear how her intel got so garbled, but Fairwater's preference for other guys has clearly made her assume that he would not be sharing power with someone of the opposite sex.
It is possible that Admaria stays in the background for the most part and Featherstone's spies missed her, or missed her significance.
