I am terribly intrigued by the word "cannot" in this answer... Hizell himself is hesitant to cross a Fae, so I wonder what sort of power it would take that the Fae couldn't do anything about it.

Especially given that previously Mab & Pip have discussed Pip's form being part of a "deal" they had made.

Edit:
Fixed your title. Hope you don't mind.

There do seem to be magics which are keyed to the owner/creator.  For instance, SAIA is some kind of hyperrealm that can be accessed only with the consent of Fa'Lina, and all Hizell's power couldn't break that wall down.

This may be a similar case in that Mab instigated it and only Mab can undo it as and when she feels Pip has learned his lesson.

I imagine it's the kind of deal whereby Pip serves as her pet and loses access to all his powers in exchange for Mab not utterly destroying him.

Limitations on a Fae include other Fae; also, Ambaargh is troll.

...Is it just me, or is Amber's shirt an experiment in change-blindness? The color changes throughout the panels.

In their outside-of-Furrae conversations, I didn't get the impression that Mab had that kind of a power advantage over Pip. But that's just me.

Hard to say, but I think I agree. He certainly didn't have any qualms about needling her.

There is a Q&A which I linked to quite recently, where Pip's greatest fear is listed as "one day his actions will get her attention and she'll decide he should just be destroyed".  Which may or may not be canon, and if it is it may or may not refer to Mab.

Yeah. Pip isn't referring to Mab in that.  Mab couldn't destroy Pip even if she wanted to.

It's Pip's mum, isn't it. Pip's scared of his mum.

Well, if a fae can't destroy him then I'd guess Pip's referring to a god of some sort.

Dishonored

Maybe Pip's afraid of...Amber! Dun dun dunnnnn!

Well, I can at least confirm that Pip is not a Fae in disguise.

Hmm.  I can't help but notice it immediately follows the "loss" of his mate... and he's listed as straight... so by the rules of antecedent...
