Heh, there are some egglayer species that will fertilise their eggs, even if there isn't a male around to fertilise said eggs.
And then, the chicken that comes out of the egg will often be a male chicken.
I think Turkeys can do it too.

And there were some salamanders as well, that could change gender upon maturing, if they had the need for it.

I repeat, Nature is weird !
