It depends mostly upon which theme you're using. The default theme uses dark backgrounds. The theme I use uses light backgrounds.

Obviously, there are issues when you start playing with the colours... ;-]

How long have you been drawing: Since I was 4. With the intention of being an artist: Since 2000.

Have you taken any art classes: Yes~ I'm starting my 5th year of college double majoring in Painting and Illustration! I've got 2 more years after this for graduate school to teach Painting at a college level. :D

If yes, what kind: Drawing 1&2, Design1,2&3, Watercolor (2x), Painting 1, Painting 2 (3x), Painting 3 (3x), Figure Construction, Life Drawing, Sculpture, Ceramics, Typography, Intro to Commercial Art, Illustration Techniques, Illustration Concepts, Art History Survey 1&2, 20th Century Art and Architecture.

What is your favorite thing to draw: The figure.

What is your LEAST favorite thing to draw: Backgrounds. Especially Buildings. Augh!

Do you draw traditional (pencil, paint, etc) or Digital: Both but i'm a traditionalist primarily. Oil paints and watercolors are my favorite tools.

Do you color your drawings: Yessum! I'm a colorist at heart.

Is Art going to be in your future as a career: Yes! My ultimate goal is to teach at a college level. Before I get there though, I hope to freelance illustrate and maybe storyboard animations.

What's your favorite medium: Oil Paints. Nuff Said.

Where do you get your inspiration: Tough to say. I look to nature alot. I find pictures and colors I like in magazines and keep them. I also collect old books and random knick-knacks. Birds are my muse though. I could paint or draw birds forever.

Have you ever been paid to draw: Yes.

Is there anything you see yourself never drawing: Really weird anthro porn. The craziest thing i've done was paint a giant Praying Mantis standing on a bed over a naked, decapitated man.

Have you ever drawn from life: Often. I HIGHLY suggest that other artists, even anthro artists and beginners draw from life. Even if that means having friends pose. Nothing is a better tool for finding poses.

Do you take requests often:Not really. Maybe from really close friends, but I primarily do commissions.

Anything else you want to say about your art: If you have ANY art related questions (Proportions, mixing colors, Oil paints, watercolors, anatomy, shading, etc. Feel free to drop me a line on dA! I LOVE helping people out and giving friendly critiscm.)

Jigsaw Forte

Your Name: Rachel Keslensky

Your Artist Name (what you sign your pics with): Jigsaw Forte (although out of principle I don't sign my works... I'm a big fan of the "You know it when you see it" principle. I imagine that'll change whenever I find my art getting ripped off.)

How long have you been drawing: Constantly? Only a few years, but I've been drawing as far back as I can remember.

Have you taken any art classes: Up until High School, yes.

If yes, what kind: Ah, the usual stuff a High School art class has. Up until the AP Art class at least -  they were more concerned with dabbling in various mediums and getting the technical aspects right more than anything else.

What is your favorite thing to draw: Chibis. ^_^

What is your LEAST favorite thing to draw:
Ginormous crowd scenes / landscapes.

Do you draw traditional (pencil, paint, etc) or Digital: All-digital. I sketch in pencil when I need to do something experimental, but...

Do you color your drawings:
Yes

Is Art going to be in your future as a career: I damn well hope so!

What's your favorite medium: Again, digital.

Where do you get your inspiration: I'm a synthesizer. It's very rare that I can't find SOMETHING that won't go with what I'm drawing.

Have you ever been paid to draw: Quite a bit, in fact. Unfortunately they're pretty few and far between.

Is there anything you see yourself never drawing: I make it a point not to draw porn. There's enough furry porn artists out there. (Besides, my Dad knows I draw this stuff.)

Have you ever drawn from life: When I was taking actual classes, yes. Not so much now unless I need a specific reference.

Do you take requests often: No. I tend to put a little too much effort in to just "give away" stuff.

Anything else you want to say about your art: ... which is part of the reason I don't do a whole lot else besides the comic. Even stuff like the wallpapers and other peripherals just sorta feels like a waste compared to that...

Moonchylde

Your Name: Yeah, I'll just keep that to myself for now...

Your Artist Name (what you sign your pics with): Usually Moonchylde, sometimes Comik (depends on who it's for)

How long have you been drawing: I've found stuff dating back to 94', so... at least 15 years

Have you taken any art classes: Quite a few, actually.

If yes, what kind: Basic high school stuff; drawing, ceramics, art history... oh yeah, and I flunked out of art school in 99'. Graphic design is not my friend. Graphic design is nobodies friend...

What is your favorite thing to draw: Old-school skulls-and-dagger tattoos

What is your LEAST favorite thing to draw: hands

Do you draw traditional (pencil, paint, etc) or Digital: Traditional *cues "Fiddler on the Roof" music*

Do you color your drawings: sometimes, depends on the piece.

Is Art going to be in your future as a career: unless I can somehow score a tattoo , not likely.

What's your favorite medium: pencils, charcoal, ink

Where do you get your inspiration: sleep deprivation, caffeine addiction, and a past history of psychedelic drug addiction

Have you ever been paid to draw: once or twice, yeah. Most people, however, seem to think I'm a free magic art machine.

Is there anything you see yourself never drawing: Some of the more "interesting" fetishes... I guess I'll never be popular and still be able to suck at art...  :<

Have you ever drawn from life: yeah, though mostly back in high school.

Do you take requests often: not really... I prefer to surprise people, that way they're too grateful to mention my lack of talent.

Anything else you want to say about your art: I'm not the best, but I'm at least a couple spots up from the worst. Oh, and a lot of my work tends to fall in blasphemous/heretical categories... it's nothing personal, just what I like to draw. You've been warned, people.

Dekari

Hmmm....I think I can fill out one of these now.  Character and environment modeling counts as art, right?  All be it I'm still at the very early stages of beginner  :P

Your Name:  Neil Blanding

Your Artist Name (what you sign your pics with):  Drake Dekari

How long have you been drawing:  Recently, a month.  Previously, 4 years

Have you taken any art classes:  Would drafting classes count?

If yes, what kind:  (7-12 years ago) Combination high school and college: 4 years of drafting classes consisting of architectural and engineering drafting by hand focusing on 2-D, isometric, landscape, floor plan, and part design as well as several classes with AutoCAD and Mechanical Desktop for 3-D solid modeling.
(Fall/Winter 2009 - Winter/Spring 2010)  Photoshop and Autodesk Maya

What is your favorite thing to draw:  Don't know, just started again.

What is your LEAST favorite thing to draw:  For the short time classes focused on landscape design, that sucked.

Do you draw traditional (pencil, paint, etc) or Digital:  Digital

Do you color your drawings:  Rendering takes care of that.

Is Art going to be in your future as a career:  No, this is more of a hobby for me right now.

What's your favorite medium:  Seeing as I'm left handed when drawing, pencil and paper wasn't all that friendly with me when drawing large scale.  So working with anything digital became my thing.

Where do you get your inspiration:  Same places I get inspiration for writing....anywhere.

Have you ever been paid to draw:  No, I wouldn't even want to pay me  :P

Is there anything you see yourself never drawing:  I'll get back to you on that.

Have you ever drawn from life:  No.

Do you take requests often:  Depends, what do you want and how long are you willing to wait?

Anything else you want to say about your art:  Yes, but I'd rather not put a giant wall of text on here.
I somehow get the feeling that you didn't think your cunning plan all the way through.

Thanks go to Kipiru and Rhyfe for the art work used in avatars.

Liatai

#89
Your Name: Sara
Your Artist Name: Liatai... although I usually just use a silhouetted dragon's head and wing as my signature on a piece of artwork.

*How long have you been drawing?: On and off for about nine years.
*Have you taken any art classes?: Not really... I took one in eighth grade, and haven't had time since. I've taught myself most of what I know as far as art goes.
*What is your favorite thing to draw?: Animals, anthropomorphic animals, and animal-like creatures. I also like drawing faces, collared shirts and jackets, dragon mouths, clawed feet, curvy tails, and people when they're in the middle of talking to someone.
*What is your LEAST favorite thing to draw?: FEEEEEEEET. >( I HATE drawing human feet. Feet are my nemeses. It's the toes, mainly. By extension, I also hate drawing shoes. Clawed feet are an exception. I don't know why. Also, feathered wings on the backs of humanoids. Trying to figure out the anatomy gives me a headache. >:[
*Do you draw traditional (pencil, paint, etc) or Digital?: Both! I usually start an image in pencil, ink it with Microns, and then color it digitally. I'm still learning digital techniques; I started trying to teach myself how to use the GIMP in 2009.
*Do you color your drawings?: Depends on the drawing, and how much time I have.
*Is art going to be in your future as a career?: Nah, unless someone wants me to draw cells, viruses, or molecules. :lol It's just a hobby.
*What's your favorite medium?: Mechanical pencil. Cheap, easy to use, and very easy to scribble something down with whenever inspiration strikes. I like polymer clay, too.
*Where do you get your inspiration?: It depends! Music, a lot of the time; webcomics, classes, books, or games at other times. Anthropology also tends to get my wheels turning.
*Have you ever been paid to draw?: I wish, but no.
*Is there anything you see yourself never drawing?: Er... how do I put this in a PG-13 way... graphic depictions of people engaged in the act of copulation. Never. It's not my thing.
*Have you ever drawn from life?: I've sketched people on subways, and I've scribbled drawings of animals and plants I've seen, but that's about it.

Do you take requests often?: Sure! As long as it's not above PG-13.
Anything else you want to say about your art?: Please criticize me. I enjoy it. :smile Really! I'm not an art student. and the last art class I took was, as I said, in eighth grade. Criticism gives me things to think about, and things to work on. You'll be helping me learn!
