Bolt Review
By Gabriel Lopez

I recently watched Bolt, despite my aversion to brainwashie Disney movies in general, and was surprised to find it was really good.

:mowdizzy The story is a modern update of Don Quixote, and gives a nod to the Truman Show. The movie [Bolt] definitely has replay potential, which is more than I can say for Wall-E. I watched Bolt in 2-D and I'm sure it is just as impressive, if not better in 3d. The movie backgrounds look literally like artistic paintings, and I have to admit the movie has the most beautifully rendered depiction of Las Vegas that I've ever seen, the (YESCO) neon graveyard was a particularly nice touch.  Now for the spoilers, the story is about a Dog named Bolt, who was adopted by Penny. The dog was then genetically engineered by Penny's father to protect her. Five years later the father is kidnapped by his rival, the mad genius Calico, who has an army of ninja at his disposal. Because Calico is unable to convince Penny's Dad to aid him in his quest for world domination plan, the bad guy  sends his men to kidnap Penny as a way of  forcing her father to assist him. Meanwhile, Penny is tracking down her father on her own and (((surprise))) gets kidnapped. Bolt is placed in his trailer after shooting concludes and the other animal actors (Calico's personal henchCat and a Siamese sidekick) decide to torture the clueless dog. Bolt takes the opportunity to escape and our adventure begins with the aforementioned canine. Bolt runs through the production studio in search of his beloved penny, only to wind up in a box of Styrofoam  packing peanuts on his way to New York. He soon discovers his powers are gone and in his paranoid romp through the streets, bolt winds up with his head stuck in a fence. After receiving help from a trio of streetwise pidgins , these goodfeathers trick bolt into helping them to eliminate the Nefarious Mittens... Mittens is blackmailing the local rats with wings when her life is turned upside down by the crazed canine. Mittens, literally in fear for her life, agrees to help Bolt find Penny. Later, While scamming food at an RV park, they encounter a hamster named rhino who does nothing all day but watch "the magic box. "  Rhino, who is even more delusional than bolt, literally steals the show with his mind boggling ego, his one liners, and his charming personality. The epic journey has many twists and turns, the crew eventually find themselves in Las Vegas  "W00t!" It was awesome. The Animators did such a god job with the Vegas set that  You Knew it was actually Vegas. I was really impressed, seeing Vegas with buildings and Hotel/casino's that actually exist was nice for a change, unlike the amalgamated, geographically incorrect, and almost unrecognizable casino's that one often sees in other movies, TV and animated features, such as Con air, Kangaroo Jack, and Justice league among others. Anyway mittens wants to stay in Vegas, because they have a home and food there, but Bolt still wants to find Penny. Bolt Continues his trek to Hollywood on his own. Rhino convinces mittens that bolt still needs them and as his friends, they owe it to him to stick with him to the bitter end. They all magically wind up in California, Bolt finds out that he was replaced and is heartbroken. But, unlike the original Bolt, Bolt 2.0 is a scaredy cat and starts a fire that nearly (*cough* bull$#17 *cough*) destroys the studio. The original bolt rushes to the rescue, he and penny are reunited and... penny gets abducted by aliens. The eND

Don

Not a bad movie, something I'd be willing to watch more than once..

Rakala

.... wait, what was that last part?

Dakata

That's not how it ends! :C

[spoilers, obviously]

Penny's mom gets pissed because Penny's agent was all "Hoshi-, we can make a fortune off this fire thing!" and didn't seem to care about Penny ALMOST DYING at all, and she told him that they quit. And Penny just got replaced. (The fire apparently damaged her face, and she had to get it completely reconstructed. :U Lol, that's the reason why Penny looks so different. It's not another actor, guys! Really! Pfftt) And that was pretty much how the new season begins or whatever, and it involved aliens.

It was hard not to cry during the ending. :C
