Yeesh. And here I was thinking I would just offer cheesecake/beefcake wallpapers or something.

Able?  :love2 Oops, was that the outside voice? really got to get that under control...

Anyway... IMHO save it for 1000, it's coming soon enough... which is damn cool. :)

Poofyspikes

My vote is for Amber to go to the local skate park, learn to do a 900, and post a video of it to Youtube.

And here I was thinking it would just be somethin' with lines n' colours n' stuff. o.o

Gamma

Hmm, to do something now or to not?

I really don't care either way but if pressed I'd prefer to wait for something a bit bigger at 1000.
I'd give her another bill this year to make that celebration extra special. :D

hmm. For Comic 900, I think Amber should take all the time she would normally use to make the comic, and go out and enjoy herself. maybe get a nice dinner, somethin nice to drink, and relax. Then just go on to 901 like nothing happened. =D

       8) Everyone knows what Amber does every ''special'' 100th comic. Why not try it again, it works ...

Let us not encourage Amber to do dangerous things that are likely to cause broken bones, lest we be without updates for a long time.

I dunno, I kinda like the idea of a cheesecake picture for #900

If this were number 1000, I would suggest that Amber take a week off from regular updates and draw a ginormous group photo type picture featuring all characters, past and present, that have appeared in DMFA

Remember the saying that you should be careful what you wish for.  I envision a strip where Amber is looking at a drawing but the audience can only see the back.

Fluffy:  What do you have there?
Amber:  I tried to imagine a photograph session where all the characters who have ever appeared in DMFA posed for a group picture.
Fluffy:  Aren't you going to show it to the readers?
Amber: (shows a blank piece of paper to the audience)
Fluffy:  But it's blank.
Amber: I imagined that the photographer forgot to take off the lens cap.

I think you have read Amber's mind, least the lazy portion. :)

Still worth it. :U

      8) Out of curiousity , what is so special about the 900th strip ? True, the 100th strip showed an increase in picture quality, but apart from that, not much has changed ...
8) Just Hanging Around ...

llearch n'n'daCorna

Picture quality has jumped three or four times over the course of the strip, at least.

There's the original B&W, the upgraded B&W, the big colour step, then three or so colour upgrades - adding backgrounds, upgrading the quality of the colour, etc etc.

Seriously, compare early colour strips with later colour strips. The difference is easily visible.

  8) And did you notice anything about the frequency of all the updates, over time, in comparison ?

... well, since the dates aren't logged, how would you be able to tell what they are in retrospect?

I've been watching since about the wings making coffee strip, and she's been extremely consistent. Despite the claims of her fans that she can take some time off, Amber has been fairly solidly in favour of updating every week; from memory, she's had maybe 3 or 4 weeks off in three or so years.

Heck, I get more time than that off from my job, and I feel hard done by...

Normally true, however there isn't much she could mistake that particular l337-5p34k for.

Anyway, I would like to see Kria on a stripper's pole, myself.  Covered, of course, but barely!  >:3 :mwaha

Technically, speaking people have no real concept of time when it comes to works of art... for instance a major gripe for newcomers is the inconstancy's of the artwork  failing to realize the artist took years  to get to the skill level they are at during any given point.  Assuming that the artist has taken all of 9 months to a year to create a 900 page masterwork.

I don't get it, any artist that had that  much free time they wouldn't be wasting it on Comics...and most certainly all the artwork would share a consistent quality...

also, Artists tend to find old work horrifically disgusting. I myself have three completed projects all of which are going to be recreated, expanded, condensed, or reworked into the current plot line of my own drama.

You can tell the exact time when any DMFA  strip was posted.   Just subtract 0.012 seconds from the time the thread for it appeared in the forum.

The strip has been going longer than the forum, though. Longer than the old forum, as well. What then?

YES!  Cheesecake, give us cheesecake...

Lots and lots of cheesecake, home made and sliced large.

And after another thousand strips, #2001: A Mab Odyssey
