I just told my dad it was like Anime, but with animals and such. This seems to answer everything pretty neatly (and also circumvents those sexual elements nicely because everyone already knows Anime is pretty fucked up sometimes)

I once had a picture of Ryudo up on my desktop (it was this one, but now it's a Metroid).  My dad asked me what it was and I explained that it was a character I roleplay as.  Since he knows I do a lot of the D&D thing, he accepted that.  No harm, no foul.

It doesn't like the referrer tag. Copy the link and paste it into a new tab, and you're golden.

What do you call the fur on animals?  Just attach a 'y' on the end of it, and there's the word for furry!  That always works.
