I would like to say that Mab is looking much better imho.  I don't know what it is, but she is just drawn cuter than I seem to remember.  Not as cute as Nutmeg, but still cute.

Maybe Nutmeg exiled Mab after Mab gave Nutmeg the monarchy?

I think the last panel is equating the Monarchy to fruitcake. It's just a gift that gets passed around way too many times.

There is a set number of fae.  They have been and always will be.  Age is meaningless to them unless it plays a part in their current 'role'.

Wow.  While this strategy does not come as a big surprise, I must admit that that was not how I expected the fae to deal with their monarchy.  Wouldn't an authoritarian democracy make more sense then?  All of the fae decide who they want to lead them, who leads with absolute power for as long as they want, then they step down and the fae decide who replaces them.

I have to agree on that.  Amber's art is usually good, but this is unusually good.
