I wouldn't think it's that hard to guess what's going on.  Though I suppose Loki might want to know why.

I am wondering how much Mana's non-tricksterness impacts the mission.  That said, I think the main goal was to bring them to heel rather than to bring Mana to justice as a rogue trickster.  I'm sure that was part of the excuse, though.
