I wonder if Daryil is trying to bootstrap deification by getting people to worship him before he is a god in the hopes that it will take?
Maybe he'd get more traction if he told people what he was going to be the god of, and benefits for those who get in early like some kind of Initial Public Offering of deification.

Even if he's decided not to outright tell Darius about those thieves, maybe he'll tell Drake since she's less hostile to him.
