That doesn't quite make sense.  If the head of the village is the person best at wrangling monsters, why do they need outside help at all?  It's going to be awkward in terms of their coursework if the mission is one of those 'things are not what they seem' ones.  How are you going to get any experience at bog standard missions if you always get the weird ones?
