Title: 02/17/08 [Abel 2 #7] - Trouble

Aniz is in for it now.  Glad to see he finally got what he deserved.

Oh come on,  what Aniz did wasn't THAT evil. Sure he scarred a woman and killed someone who was about to be married, but he didn't initially want to kill Hennya, and he gave Abel a normal childhood... Why is everyone picking on him?

Semi-phenomenal, nearly-cosmic powers: 5000 years
The ability to kill somebody by just thinking about it: 7000 years.
The satisfaction of feeling their bones being crushed underneath your fists: Priceless.

Again, Fa'Lina is hot when she's angry.
At someone other than me. God, if she was angry at me, I'd get outta that realm of reality.

And that third panel is a nice bit of focus play, nice one Amber.

I just noticed that in the third panel, Fo is hiding in fear next to the mirror.

If, in the next comic she holds up Aniz's skull she just pulled out of his head and quotes Shakespear, it would be awesome. Not that I hate Aniz or anything. Shakespear and violence is an awesome combination.

now, hopefully, HOPEFULLY....she will finish the %(^)(&*)&^$%$#$  off.  Instead of just "crunching" what turns out to be a random object near him and he winds up getting away from this alive.  Not that my opinion matters, but it's about the only thing at this point that could cause me to think twice about my  "Genocide for all Cubi being the LESSER of two evils" Stance.

and yes, until at least we recieve verification as to what emotion Abel feeds off of, he's on the list too.   it might not be coincidence that Jyrass'sl angst skyrocketed about the time he showed up.

Wow, she's pretty mad.  I think it's more a matter of teaching him a lesson than ending his life.  I'd expect a bit more magic if she wanted him dead.  Eyes rolling up and falling to the floor, that sort of thing.

In any case, as useless a dad as Aniz has been, killing him would be a very bad idea as it would likely send Abel entirely catatonic.

Personally I think Aniz is either alive in the current timeline, or else slain by Ti'Fiona a few decades ago.

Quote from: chaotik on February 17, 2008, 03:29:48 AM
It might not be coincidence that Jyrass'sl angst skyrocketed about the time [Abel] showed up.

You might want to reread those strips - Abel is unwittingly caught in the middle.  Every time Jyrras starts to get angsty Abel reacts negatively to the situation, e.g. "Stupid, stupid Abel!", the time he got so bored with Jy's prattle that he changed his outfit, and the time he practically threw him out (when Jy's crush on him starts to show).
He's certainly not behaving the way I'd expect for someone trying to manipulate Jyrras, in fact the one time he tried to do so it backfired (Jyrras is a Being!  You can't emotion-jam Beings...)
In fact, I'd almost say that Abel finds Jyrras' emotions to be an unpleasant food.

Wow... Fa'Lina is sure angry. Aniz won't be able to talk normally for a while. I guess she'll give him a lecture on bringing up children next, adding lots of mental pain to physical.
Fa'Lina looks really scary when she is angry. Not the scariest thing that I saw, but certainly among the scarier ones. I would think twice before getting on her bad side.
And I just couldn't resist making this little thing (http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh121/RentheKnight/Grounded.png). >:3

Fa'lina wins everything that could ever be won through out history, because that was freaking awesome.

I've wanted that exact panel to happen since finding out Aniz is a douchebag. I kept worrying that he wouldn't get in trouble or worse get good grades for his 'project' or some other 'yay Aniz' thing would happen. Thank god he got his comupance (Dunno how to spell that) in the form of being hit by a bus :)

Cubi can enter dreams.  Aniz is now in dreamland.  I wonder if Fa'Lina is now going to enter Aniz's dreams to see his side of the story, thus displaying it to the readers.  Also note that the position of Fa'Lina's arm indicates that there is likely to be a second punch.  I wonder if the cubi medical plan includes dental.

I bet cubi can regenerate better than mere Beings. Also, magic works miracles. As for the dreams, I don't think that Fa'Lina has knocked Aniz out - she is preparing to punch him again, therefore, he is still conscious. After all, there is no fun to beat something that is not screaming! >:3 (I am a horrible person.)

Cubi can regenerate quite well, to the point of being able to regrow missing limbs. As an added bonus, a good beating here means a trip to see Dr. Ink. >:]

With respect to the dream theory, it's likely that Aniz is already old enough to have lost the ability to dream. We're not quite sure at what age that normally happens to Cubi (or even how old Aniz is, for that matter), but sleep and dreams are among the first biological functions to go. At any rate, people tend not to dream when knocked unconscious like that. :animesweat

What I'm waiting for now is when Fa'Lina's has finished and left and Aniz is left as a barely breathing heap of blood and bone splinters on the floor, Fo is doing some nastiness to add insult to injury!  >:3
It's not that Aniz could selectively ignore him anymore! :)

PS: This one feels so good! And not only because what happened to Aniz but because I predicted this from back when (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Ab_004.php) Fa'Lina saw broken Abel.

I wouldn't think so, not unless it's red ink. Take a look near the bottem of the Crnch sound effect. Looks like blood to me.

Now, mind you, I personally think that the worst thing Fa'lina could do to him is mess up the paperwork and leave him to complete it ALL over again. But that's just because I'm a Gaming Guardian at heart. (Fear the Philor...)

In any case, it's nice to see Fa'lina showing off her protective side here. Personally, I think she could, from the persective of the cubi race, be seen as a very good person. Mind you, she's extremely evil by being standards, but still...

So, who wants to take bets on her being anticlimatic at some point and whipping out muffins mid beating?

If Fa'Lina starts eating muffins, it will be while lecturing Aniz who will be a twisted bloody mess on the floor.  Perhaps while dipping one of the muffins in Aniz's blood and saying "See, here's another use for blood.  It goes good on muffins."

Destania may have been the professor for pain and torture, but I wonder who taught her?

Well, I still say that I've seen scarier things. Fa'Lina's image isn't likely to haunt my dreams. If she decides to hurt you, she does it "right here and right now".
Aniz's pain and misery is indeed funny.
As for the teeth, look at this (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_534.php) and this (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_730.php) strips. Her teeth are always like that, I guess...

Something tells me that it was not Fa'Lina who taught Destania torture. Rather, her teacher was someone from her own clan.

Good, lemme get my crowbar, once she's done, I call next dibs.

And then, when it's all over? Re-do all the entry forms RIGHT, and then fill out your medical papers so Dr. Ink can examine you. =3

So. "Crnch!" is such a satisfying sound. Aniz has some pain coming. Whatever his reasons, whatever he intended, he has caused pain, suffering, trauma, and death among those who have not earned it. Let some of that be returned upon him now.

Abel didn't necessarily think Ink was scariest thing, just the evilest thing. They're not necessarily the same thing. I think little or nothing could be more frightening than a just person on a righteous rampage when they've got power like Fa'Lina has.

Personally, I came pretty close to cheering.  If I hadn't been in a hurry/in a semi-public place when I read the comic, I probably would have.

Fa'lina, willing to give you a chance now.  (Because, of course, I know you care about things like that, ancient/"semi-omnipotent" headmistress and fictional character that you are.)

(And so, on that note, it did come to be that I revisited my year-old topic regarding Fa'Lina's "semi-omnipotence."  And wouldn't you know it - I think I get it.  Sort of.
...dang, I wouldn't shut up back then, would I?)

Dragons are known throughout mythology for their massive fangs, enormous physical strength, incredible longevity, and incalculable magical power. They're also vain, arrogant, and nearly omniscient creatures prone to rare fits of rage resulting in insurmountable damage and bloodshed.

Then you deserve a Fa'Lina Punch, also. =D -hands her a ticket- Fa'Lina is dealing with Aniz at the moment, please have a seat in the lobby and wait until the sounds of breaking bones stop to enter.

I have to agree with Kayriel here. I mean, I like Aniz, but in a "wow, this guy's a douchebag but that makes him an excellent villain" sort of way. Kind of like Scar from the Lion King. Even though I like Aniz in that writing-admiration manner, I can admit that he deserved getting his jaw reduced to bone-splinters. I even encourage it. Few things are more frustrating than a villain who doesn't get his or her just desserts.

Neither do I really. But aparantly it's like the sun from two meters to Ren's eyes.

And yeah, I agree with Keaton. I like villians. Especailly when they're really horrible people, that makes the all the more evil. But Aniz deserved that punch (probable beating) from Fa'Lina.

Not to mention, I'd use any reason to get to see Fa'Lina angry like that. She's pure awesome.

While I agree that Aniz makes a "good" bad guy, I don't think he is truly Evil. All the acts of villainy he committed happened because he tried to show off and messed up horribly (and now he is getting a well deserved therapeutic beating for it >:3). After all, he could have done everything without hurting and killing anyone. Aniz is quasi-evil, Evil Lite, if I may say so.

As for my cranial eyes, they were hurt not by the image as it is, but by the sheer randomness of it. It was like wearing a pair of night-vision goggles and getting a flashbang explode into your face.

Anywho, just giving a heads up that Photoshop didn't install proper on Dam's computer like we were hoping...which means I will likely be partially missing Friday's update. (I have something...its just not the comic)  I'll be having to time-share on Dmoons comp so while I am confident Abel's Story will be up on schedule...I will likely be having a bit of a wacky time updating since I now have to compete with Dmoon for computer time.

And we all know my comic takes a bajillion more years than Dmoons.

SQUEE! MASTER ASIA! How'd you know he was my favorite character of all time? I played his "reincarnation" at a gundam RPG for three years 'bout four years ago. Fuhai, mad scientist/martial artist. By the gods that was a fun three years, especially once I completed my masterpiece, Gundam Hellgate. =.= By far the most powerful Gundam ever fan-devised.

To Amber of Darkmoon:

Cleric/Ninja? o_O; That's a new one on me, what campaign setting?

For me:
Tanis Wolfe, 10 Paladin/6 Judicator, Forgotten Realms.
Jaketh Harrier, 8 Rebalanced Paladin, Oforai (custom game)
Hewj Cheen, 7 Dread Necromancer (modified), Runefaust (custom game, Shining Force-based)
Libai Leng, 5 Goliath Warblade, Rokugan
Absol, 3 Lumi Druid (modified), Oforai Alternate Universe (custom game)
Taurus Stellith, 3 Iridorian Jedi Guardian, SW KOTOR d20
Don't think I'm forgetting anyone currently active... I game on OpenRPG, have for the last six years (starting with Tanis.)

In this comic, it looks to me like Fa'Lina has gotten the biggest "upgrade" I've seen thus far. As in, more so than the last time we saw her looming over Abel.

They're actually far more massive. It's her self-control and willpower that keep them restrained to a smaller form. Anything sets her off, though, and they start slipping out, growing, swelling from a mixture of rage and sorrow, feeding off of the pain until they assert dominance.

If you say "I did everything I could" at the end of the day" expect to get so chewed out by your superior officers that you won't be able to sleep for a week.  The standard response is that "All that means was that you couldn't think of anything that you could do that would work.  And you were satisfied with that."  If your commanding officer says that you did everything you could, then you can sleep soundly at the end of the day.
