And thus we see why Jyrras has been acting weird.
Question is what's keeping him from sleeping?
Maybe..
Fear (reporters, potentially suitors)?
Life revelations (that who 'newly gay' thing) ?
Massive amounts of caffeine
Nervous breakdown (see above)
Ahhhh lack of sleep. That explains it.
Good thing Abel armored up. Right now, the area around Jyrras is a killzone.
Now we note his complete lack of wings. Wonder what he made the plate out of, eh?

That raises the question:"If a Cubi uses fur or hair to make armor plate, will it be just as sturdy?"

I'd say a little from columns A, B, and C, but my money's mostly on D...
Its' true what they say. Extreme solutions are sometimes the most entertaining. For some reason this strip reminds me of Final Fantasy With lyrics.
Well, Prof. Change did say that a 'cubi's hardest part of the body are the wings, obviously they'd use that to armor plate :P
Ooh, I like the new outfit! And not even Abel can make armour look gay ... wait ... is that a bare midriff?

Don't take the knife out Abel. Just let it stay up there where he can't reach it.

Looks a bit like the 'armoured' costumes Batman and Robin had in
Batman Forever.
Could it be that he's using the knife to make the armor...? It looks a bit like the pointy part is melded with the armor.
EDIT: Never mind, he was just testing out the armor with the knife, I see.
A little more proof that Jyrras could/should be a cubi. Sleep is inconvenient for him.
Though I will admit, that is one nice shot.

Nooo, I think that Jyrras accidentally threw it, and it stuck in the armour. In frame 1, Jyrras holds the knife. Between frame 1 and frame 2, Jyrras apparently throws up his arms and opens his hands. In frame 2, the knife is gone, but we hear the

More like he's currently pulling it out of the hole it made in the armor. Either Jyrras throws pretty hard, or that's one REALLY sharp knife.
No... you can see the tip of the knife bent behind a bit. I doubt it got stuck, especially considering it's made out of wing.

I agree. And I wouldn't be surprised if Abel would try to keep it out of Jyrras' reach.
I'm just waiting to see what other "inventions" it is that sleep-deprived Jyrras has come up with.
First off, I agree that Change's classes (http://missmab.com/Comics/Ab_067.php) have been coming in handy for Abel.
Secondly, Jyrras is acting a lot like (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0505.html) a certain (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0599.html) elf wizard (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0623.html).

Tape... you wouldn't believe some of the craziness you can come up with while half asleep.
I have come up with a few character concepts that way even, not to mention a lot of jokes
I don't know if its been mentioned yet, but doesn't it seem that Jyras would be A sweet pastrey to a cubi from Abel's clan?
Though with all that Abel's done it is a good show that their infinity does not completely rule who they are. Yes. Abel may play around with your mind. But Abel will never try to hurt you if he doesn't have too.
But on the bright side Jyras unarmed himself. Right into Abel's chestpate. Which is just a little concerning when you relies he notices the new armor first and not the knife embedded in it.
Has anyone noticed how many plot relationship possibilities that Abel has?
1.We have Jyras who has a crush on him.
2.Aaryanna and Mink wanted to be close to him in the academy.
3.While it hasn't been touched on yet. Kria would probably Try to set up her daughter with him. Of course Regina would be after Abel too with her being after all the cute boys in the world.
I think Abel has the longest list of people who could be used for a plot of love inters in the entire cast. Not that Abel is actually intersted in finding true love though.

I think Abel has the longest list of people who could be used for a plot of love inters in the entire cast. Not that Abel is actually intersted in finding true love though.
1. Abel doesn't know about Jyrras' crush on him yet, and is likely too oblivious/ disinterested to figure it out.
2. The last time we saw Aaryanna and Abel in the same room, she was busy trying to tear his wings off, and not in a good way (though that exchange between Aary and Mink was pure win!).
3. I think Mink's interest in Abel was more platonic than romantic; perhaps partially driven by his own affinity for Joy?
4. We know that Kria is planning something big between Dan and Lorenda, though right now playing matchmaker is probably pretty low on her list of priorities.
And in Abel's own words... (http://missmab.com/Comics/Vol_1084.php)
True D'ymkarra. That list seems to be full of past tense what ifs and stretches in there.
It almost is like Amber is setting up a mind field so we can't tell where Abel is going. But I wonder if Abel has noticed he has been placed in a situation that kind of goes against his lone man nature.
I think Fa'lina had more intended then just Abel keeping an eye on Dan.
...ok, yeah, in continuation to my comment about last comic, that's definitely a fricken laser sharpened knife 0.o... just... wow... piercing plate armor with an absentminded toss. Dan needs to get a sword made by Jy, though maybe he has one already
Abel is probably only interested in dating himself.
And I can fully understand his desire to wear armor around Jyrras .. dang, be careful with the knife, why don'tcha ?
As for the armor being roman ... what ?
We are not in Rome, but Lost Lake !
Anyways, most romans wore leather, lamellar or ringmail type armor, only rich people had full plate armor.
If you are curious what leather and lamellar type armor looks like, have a look at this (http://www.fantasy-armor.com/cat.php?cat=1&depart=24) page.

That does, however, raise some interesting questions about what would happen if he shifted the area of his back that had the clan mark. That does, however, raise some interesting questions about what would happen if he shifted the area of his back that had the clan mark. The mark would show, I understand, and glow because of the magic, but would it remain in the same place unchanged? For instance, what would happen if he decided to sprout a third arm out of the center of his back or something?
Dang Girl you got some weird ideas for fanfiction going on there! >:3
No kidding. Slash and then some...

Heads up: The comic is still on it's way, just may be a bit delayed due to Photoshop eating my progress. I'll post it the moment I finish it, but it's possible I may take a nap in between.
When I originally read this, I presumed that it ment that the comic would be up BEFORE Friday's regulerly scedualed update. I guess something has come up that delayed the comic even further, and I'm ok with that. However, it would have been nice to get a "Check back Friday. You can stop refreshing the comic every half hour now."

Half hour? Pft, noob. I update every minutes. :P

Please. Try that when you have between thirty to forty tabs open at any given moment. SOMETHING has to give, after all. Mind you, I seem to have over eighty tabs open right now, but after a certan point, raw bulk stops being a facter.

Oh man, sometimes I love the internet. Because like, you can go about your life. And then when you come back the next day or whenever. That content you were looking for
is still there. :rolleyes

You know, if I didn't know better, I'd say you were being sarcastic, there, Drath.
Heaven forbid.
Of course you could always write a program that would retrieve the web page once a minute and signal an alarm when the picture changes. That way you could get on with your life and be alerted to new pages when they appear.

There may or may not be one or more deliberate mistakes in this code, since nobody should be stupid enough to actually run it, but I've yet to be disappointed by underestimating how stupid people can be...
(Which means, if anyone posts how to fix the bugs, their posts will end up removed, and so will they. Have a nice day.)

"Fi" (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_421.php) is supposed to be "Fu" (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_605.php)?
Fi is If backwards
Fu is - well look up FUBAR, SNAFU, and STFU
And FU is what I'll be if I upset the box.

Never mind the bugs, isn't this horribly bad programming? :tongue
... and there are no line numbers! What madness is this? :B
Well, yeah - It's bad programming, don't spam a webserver ... at least increase the interval actually, the interval isn't that bad when I think of it, any reasonable webserver could handle that. Still, making software that continiously poll a web server is bad netiquette.
On a sidenote, isn't there an RSS feed for DMFA updates ?
That would sorta make all the code unimportant.

Actually, I was thinking of the repeat of the
sleep statement.
Nope, no RSS feed.
Google reader can handle non-rss subscriptions, but that doesn't always work.
I'd have thought that there would be a Firefox addon that did this. I mean, I can set auto-refresh on each tab individually, right down to 5 frickin seconds ...
As far as rss feeds are concerned, I've got this (http://feed43.com/6537412678850661.xml) set up and its working pretty good for me.
ps: Hi :)

Sure, but it was a quick one-off script written in less than ten minutes, with no code review. And deliberately poorly done, at that.
As far as RSS feeds go, Amber isn't up to making one. Her Coding Monkeys are working on getting one going in the background, but it's not as simple as you might think, and is depending on some other things. Mostly paying work taking all the attention...

Welcome, Whalefreezer. Make sure you've read the rules, leave your sanity at the door, and beware of the box. Those are the most important things to remember. All else is elaboration.
Oh, and have a souvenir coffee mug. I usually present these to new folks, but I've gotten a bit behind lately.
Ooo, ta. I knew I was missing something.
/me noms on the cup, crunch crunch crunch *
Everyone warns about the box. No one mentions the rest of us.
Yeah, that seems terribly unfair.
Maybe I'm just more visible? Perhaps if you painted yourself in dayglow orange with lime markings, you'd get more attention?
Nah, but instead I may just paint the forum red with the blood of forumites. That may get some attention.

Please state the bludgeon, blade or implement of blood-letting that you wish to use!
Well, Friday is almost over, and still no word from Amber since Tuesday. One presumes that if she had broken her hand or wound up in a full body cast or the like, we would have heard from her hubby or her brother by now. As is, I'll just assume that she is doing her "Living Zombie" impersonation ( :zombiekun2 'Sleep... Sleeeep... SLEEEEEEEEEEEP...' :zombiekun2 ), and check back Sunday.

The long night of the living software ? :D
Photoshop doesn't eat people, just their money, time, and work. Also a bit of printer ink and paper.
