Don't you just hate it when that happens?
Edit:
He looks as if he just experienced an alternate reality where everything looks familiar, yet nothing makes sense. Hmmm, a happy Alexsi? Yes, that sounds about right.
And nothing in his 300+ years of quality education in the most diverse of subjects could prepare him for this.
Go with the flow, Abel, just go with the flow. You have met the irresistible force. Or was it imponderable object? I forget.
Wait, is that a snuggie?

Heh...I've been wondering when the comic would invoke the trope about silly soap operas.
...Okay, I haven't. :B But it's one of my favorite gags.
Also, it does seem quite disconcerting to Abel to have the third-scariest-thing-in-the-world being so nice. x3 Just enjoy your soup and soap, Abel.
I suspect that this is what is going through Abel's mind. (http://www.kfcplainfield.com/sound/twilightzone.wav)

Me personaly, I like my chicken and dumplings. :mowcookie
If it's the time between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, hence the late talking by Alexsi, then that's why there's a soap! It's the only thing that's showing on TV. It's a nasty time to be home at when you're ill or something.

I did....
Talk about the shoe being on the other foot, as far as Abel's concerned.... Isn't it usually him who does stuff like that to people?
And yeah, it's surprising that he's just going along with it there. I couldn't even figure out that it WAS a soap he was watching, it was so weird....
And Alexsi IS scary this way.... :erk I'm all for her being happy, what with the stress of running the inn and all, but that's TOO happy for Alexsi--for her sake. That much of a high is only setting her up for a huge withdrawal and depression later....
I'm interested to see how she would break up a fight or get rid of a trouble maker in this mood. Also chicken noodle soup is a cure all for both illness and depression.

Why yes yes she is .... Pushing Daytime TV on Abel in his state of mind, could homicidal at least. But it may throw everything into a loop...
The real question Will he be Abel to think thru his nightmare with that romantic mush in front of him...?

Am I implying that Alexi has been replaced by an evil shapeshifting doppelganger twin who is masquerading as Alexi, has drugged Pyro to sleep and stuffed him in a closet next door, sent the real Alexi off to Pygmy Shrew Island in a zoo animal box with holes in it, and is planning to trick Wildy into revealing the super-secret shaman potion for curing amnesia and granting immortality because its half-twin-step-niece-twice-removed is in an irreversible amnesiatic coma?

I remember reading somewhere early on in the second part of Abel's story that all students in SAIA receive a vaccination for an anti-magical disease.
I always assumed that since we aren't really dealing with the "norm" here in DMFA, magically inclined races (like Cubi) do not need to worry about regular diseases. Just ones involving magic :mowdizzy

Nah. I'm sure she'll just circle the month 9 months from now four times with a red permanent marker, leave herself a multitude of post-it notes, and set her alarm clock. Then she'll wait impatiently for the rest of the year until she can glomp the hell out of her
