One wonders if at this rate, Wildy will be able to compete with Jyrras on the gross wealth graph.

That's the best business plan I've ever heard!

Selling it like it is, and loving every inch of it!

And thanks to this, the phrase "Making out like a bandit" has entered my limited vocabulary.

Should I be worried?

Very true. And it's also a very good way of making a profit... but you can usually only do it once as a professional writer. After that publishing companies become much more....  cautious.

Meh. 4 threads on today's strip. This one has a title that wasn't all memememe postpostpostpost firstfirstfirstfirst, so I'm replying here.

Jyrass has a looks that says "give me a cut, and we'll *really* be bestest buddies again."  :mwaha

Wow, FOUR SEPARATE THREADS for this topic...?   :erk

Anyway, I did wonder what was going to happen to the book when she got them to stop printing....

<.<

And not surprising that Wildy's reacting that way--like Martin Crane when he tried to return the $40 the bank accidentally gave him on "Frasier"....   :giggle

Heheh, I sense Jyrras might end up getting part of the royalties from this. And Jyrras doesn't seem too threatened by her new profits: either she really can't surpass him, or he's not worried about it and glad of her success. As it is, she'll have a ready-made market for any sequels that might come along.

Also, I love Jy's expression in panel 3.

I really don't think that she can surpass him any time soon. Keep in mind, Jy owns a (as far as I can tell) really major company. I believe the comparison is that Wildy can now be qualified as "Well off" while Jyrras is qualified as "Rich" as implied by #644 (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_644.php) and #951 (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_951.php).

But what will she do with all that cash.

Well I guess Wildy could make her own empire to compete with Biggs. Then again I can't really think what Wildy would want. She loves her friends dearly. But I can't see her wanting more money for anything then just having it.

She's ambitious it seems in character and defends her friends viciously. But when it comes to her personal life she has it pretty well hidden and we all know what happened to the photographer who tried to get a little more on her. As well as people who come knocking on her door to ask her questions.

All and all she's one of the most secretive characters I've seen in this comic.

Wildy you rock. :kirby

From Jyrras' look on the last panel, I don't think he minds too much any more that she's still making money on the book. She however looks a little nervous about the revelation.

This zoom of Wildy makes her comparible to some panels with Fa'lina. They're roughly even, but Wildy's perkier.

Proportion does tend to mess with things. The close-ups on small characters like this comic allows for one to see detail not easily detectable before.

But then, we've always known (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_114.php) that Wildy has breasts (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_663.php). :)

It logical that Wildy's is perkier - while in proportion, Wildy and Fa'lina are comparable, Wildy's is still technically smaller. Ergo, gravity has less of an effect on Wildy's.

There might be a few that cater to creatures, but those would mostly be run by creatures. They would both know what to look out for, and how to counter cheating methods.

Heck, why not a big-chested male lead, if we're throwing random non-suitable characters into a comic that doesn't need them?

This kind of makes me wonder if Wildy planned this from the start, first causing an oversupply, using Jyrras as an excuse to later contract the supply, and then make a huge profit on the copies she currently has. From an economic stand-point, it makes perfect sense...

Much larger profit margins...

That first linked strip brings two thoughts to mind ....

1) Wildy's design has changed significantly over the years; her nose is no longer as pointy.

2) I wonder if she's moved up to Brawl?

They should put something like that in business textbooks.

Then the class overall would probably make much more sense.
There was an episode where an individual was apparently selling stolen goods and doing very good business.  The police arrested him  :batman and discovered that all of the merchandise had been legitimately obtained, from remaindering (the purchasing of remaining merchandise from stores that go out of business) and other sources.  The police released him of course, but his sales dropped dramatically.  His clientele felt that they had been had. :mwaha

Or as has been said: The forbidden fruit is the sweetest of all.

Anyway, is that close enough?

Hmm, this comic needs a 'Rukia', the serious-minded, flat-chested female lead character.   :P

Why? I mean, why not a big-chested serious-minded female lead? Or a flat-chested zany type?

Heck, why not a big-chested male lead, if we're throwing random non-suitable characters into a comic that doesn't need them?

Everyone knows that for cosmic balance, at least one female lead MUST have no breasts!

IT IS COSMIC LAW!!!   :U

EDIT:  They do have a big-chested male lead in 'One Piece'... based on Tim Curry's role in "Rocky Horror Picture Show"... it's very frightening.   :erk

I still find it hard to believe that Fa'lina doesn't alter her chest somewhat with her cubi powers. With her age and the sure mass of each would.... do terrible things >_<

Plus with Wildy being so athletic I would think hers would be perkier anyways. (The right kind of athleticism.. the right kind of exercises.. not the kind that shrinks your chest XD )

And Jy seems to know too much.. he could quite easily use his abilities for evil..   :mwaha

It looks like she's trying to mush a bunch of her mass together to create the illusion of (relatively) normal-sized breasts.

back to the subject at hand. Considering the amount of work that went into the book I'm sure she's going to be making as much as she would have were the book not the subject of controversy. Only, instead of earning the money over the course of ten years she gets it all at once... and doesn't get the benefit of an additional 20 years on the book shelf... although on the other hand it's good publicity, which works toher advantage even if her next book is a dud.

I guess commenting either positively or negatively on the actions or proposed actions of moderators is considered a violation of Rule X:  You are not the forum police (http://clockworkmansion.com/main.php?page=rules#rule10). Please note that I am not commenting positively or negatively on the actions of a moderator.  I am not trying to be the forum police.  I have no desire to play with petards.  (I wonder how many people using the expression know what a petard is.)

Does anybody out there remember the appearance of some of the women in Project A-Ko (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_A-ko), particularly D.  Some of the previous posts mention women who aren't well rounded in the usual places.  If I find a picture, I'll post a link.  If  I recall correctly, this is an image of D.  Isn't she a looker. (http://rainbowsphere.oniichannoecchi.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/you-have-no-idea-what-kind-of-person-this-is.png)

By the way, I wouldn't be surprised if Jyrras gave Wildy her training in business practices.

People have made jokes about pneumatic breasts for some time, but Deebs actually has them  The description of the animated film I Married a Strange Person (http://www.filmscouts.com/scripts/review.cfm?ArticleCode=292) by Bill Plympton seems oddly fitting for this discussion as well as oddly disturbing.  Dean Martin as Matt Helm in The Ambushers was shown a woman in a bra where the bra could shoot bullets.  It was necessary for Matt to study the situation closely so that he could stay abreast of the situation.  Just wanted to mention that most of the jokes are repeats.  However, if the bra in The Ambushers could fire bullets, Fa'Lina would probably mount a howitzer.

As for Wildy's perky parts, aren't the athletic versions supposed to limit the movement of the breasts.  Otherwise, physical activity would result in chaffing.

As for Jy, don't people remember his activities in the early strips, such as number 36 (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_036.php).

Edit:

Yes, it was just a pellet gun, but Jyrras was known to have joined with Wildy for other activities (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_047.php).  And who knows what evil business practices he learned at the Bill Gates computer camp (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_042.php).

When trying to make a logical analysis of the individual strips, I feel like I'm watching Occam's razor in the hands of Sweeney Todd.

The early strips do not appear to be, in and of themselves canon.  However, Amber does seem to be studying some of the older strips so that she can extrapolate situations that are both bizarre and consistent with the early strips.  Although not necessarily canon, they sometimes become canon.

very impressive how you put that even if i've never seen the movie. i get the feeling that nothing is ever truly thrown away as far as the comic is concerned but it is reviewed through different perspective. Like Wildy branding Dan or  Jyarrs having cool sniping / pk skills. the past is distorted a bit through the process of memory idealization and fond remembrances. perspective gets skewed as things seem simpler and more fun back then before we had to grow up a little more. the further away the past gets the more perfect it seems.
