Woo my first post here. What are some of your favorite songs, or songs that just bore a line into your skull and broadcast into your brain 24/7? Lately I've been battling the Ievan Polkka for about the last week or so. Before that it was Caramelldansen and various songs from the new "The Killers" album I just bought. The Killers are highly catchy, so their material just stays in my brain and pops out at random. :mowdizzy
So what are some of the sticky songs that get stuck in your mind to the point of insanity :U?
The one that happens to get stuck in my head the most is FunkyTown.
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=xoCPNCBufwo
Mostly because it's played constantly. :<
And then I try to counter with this http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=wPOpiBXeKdY
Because I am super fly.
Supposedly, this trumps all songs (http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=tOycUO5rtMA), and can be used to remove any song stuck in your head. Plus, it has a pretty definite end, so after you're done, it just drops out of your brain all by itself.
Try it. If you have a stuck song, just belt it out, and you're set.
Aw, man, I've always got some tune scuttling around my head like a ferret or something. I embrace it, though. The problem is that it's sometimes a song that I've written myself and then I feel like some kind of pathetic ego-maniac.
actually, the only one that gets stuck in my head most often is the main theme string of the Metal Gear Solid series.
Ba de ade adeba ba ba badumduma daeade gets stuck in my facehead all the time.
lately 'boom de ah-da' sticks in my head a lot, its been giving me an idea i cant express but would like to. the discovery channel is right, the world is wonderful
then again so does THIS http://www.homestarrunner.com/onetwo.html (http://www.homestarrunner.com/onetwo.html) especially the 'ooh, aah, a rika-tika tika' bit
The usual songs floating around in my head during the day are
Bourée by Jethro Tull (http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=N2RNe2jwHE0)
or Farewell by Apocalyptica (http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=zdnD8660_W0)
"Iiiiiit's a small world a-" *sworded!*
Seriously:
"Lager than life"
"Abord the good ship Venus"
"Whiskey, you're the devil"
"Muirsheen Durkin"
"Liver, let die"
Lately, my mind has been playing Sufjan Steven's John Wayne Gacy, Jr. :dface
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=otx49Ko3fxw
Pretty much anything I like or extremely dislike gets stuck in my head. :animesweat
The ending song of Claymore (http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=l-mdK5R-E2Y&feature=related) is the crown jewel however because it has been stuck in there forever.
I haven't heard to song in ..... a year and something...but I still get it in my head, sometimes on purpose. :U To stop the bad music from running around in there.
I Just Can't Get You Out Of My Head get in there very often.
Axel F gets stuck in my head so often it's painful.

DAMN YOU EDDY MURPHY!
Oh, getting music stuck in my head is fairly easy...I was just listening to America's "The Border", and I find myself sometimes singing the words to myself even if I'm not listening to it.
Another one...this one originally for a Flash movie on Newgrounds. "The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny." It's a silly song, and terribly catchy. :rolleyes
Not to mention I think I know "Hotel California" by the Eagles by heart. :erk
The main riff in Operation Wendigo was written in an attempt to get the Leekspin song out of my head. In some ways it was exchanging one headache for another...
Right now, the ending from November Rain by GnR is fighting for space alongside the chorus of a new song I'm working on.

I'm telling you. National Geographic theme song.
Another one that supposedly removes any song is Private Dancer. The reason is the same. It's got an extremely short but absolutely magnetic chorus that will trump any other song, but the rest of the song is impossible to remember. So when you get to the end of the chorus, the song just drops out of your head and leaves no other song it its wake.
for a week i had the song 'be a man' from the mulan soundtrack stuck in my head
moreso, the bit about a great typhoon kept repeating, got very irritating
Have had a bunch of Electric Six tunes looping around my head for a bit now, mainly because I've been practicing 'Infected Girls' on the guitar. 'Improper Dancing' is surprisingly catchy too.
And then of course there's the unforgettable FIRE IN THE DISCO!
Fire in the... Taco Bell!
FIRE in the disco!
Fire in the... gates of Hell!
[dance routine!]
The last song that I happen to have heard..............
The evil Zina got this stuck in my head for a whole day!: http://zinacat.deviantart.com/art/I-think-we-re-alone-now-63218799
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYBZrRCCrXE "Say goodbye to your kneecaps chucklehead!"

those damn voices are so haunting and possessing.
ugh, don't remind me of depressing- a few years ago i spent almost a whole month with 'gollums song' stuck in my head, that's like distilled emo and i am surprised i didn't stab myself
The songs that get stuck in my head kinda vary. One time it was "Baby got Back" for almost a week. Sometime last week it was "I Don't Like Mondays" by the Boomtown Rats, because I was trying to learn how to play it. Currently, it's a mix between the orchestral pieces in Smash Bros. Brawl, and a strings piece called "Rosin Eating Zombies from Outer Space."

oooh, have you ever seen the Gilbert and Sullivan version? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkJdEFf_Qg4
I am now unable to hear that song without laughing like a loon.

I prefer the lounge version:

I prefer Joco's version, myself. Although the Lounge version is pretty good.

God, I hate my little brother sometimes. Whenever I go to visit him and my mother, he starts singing the Advantix Commercial "There ain't no bugs on me" and that always stays in my head forever until something equally as infectious comes along AH.
click if you DARE. Highly sticky, you've been warned: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1-wmXIjDQc

I happen to agree with this song. I'm Amercian and people look at me funny when I say I like a nice cup of darjeerling with a little milk in the morning. Coffee is icky.
Still Alive (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RthZgszykLs) often finds it's way into my head at random times.

I don't get the Orwell references. :<
Got Charlie Parker's Donna Lee in my head right now. Granted I'm sure there's maybe one or two people on the forum that's actually heard the tune.
Accursed bebop.
I get the most strange songs stuck in my head.
A month ago I had Baba Yetu (http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=AlwVsUHahPw), the opening theme from Civilization IV after I played it at my friend's house.
After that I got Paradise Lost (http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=BwC_GJpLK8s), by Symphony X, stuck in my head. The repeated chorus has, in my opinion a lasting impression.
Finally, for some strange reason, I got this very unique Japanese song with an impossibly long name stuck in my head. I'll post a link when I remember what the name is.
EDIT: Ok, I was able to pin down the name. 六十年罪業華地獄残酷歌 (http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=aJ-QGJYSXWk&fmt=18). Which in Japanese is read "Rokujū nen zaigō hana jikoku zankoku uta" which would roughly translate as "Song regarding flowers in a cruel hell with sixty years of sin" or something. At least that's the best I can come up with my dictionary.

one true way to prepare it. That and the UK is supposedly the CCTV capital of the world.

Well, how does CCTV relate to tea, then? The essay on tea, however, makes sense.
I now get the Orwell references. :>

Claymore was an awesome anime. I felt bad for Rigardo. It wasn't his fault he was an evil mutant lion-man thingee! SOCIETY FAILED HIM!! Not all bipedal lion creatures are evil! Just look at Sekhmet... er... ok, Charline... ooo, very bad example... ok, so I'm a little short on good anthro lion role models. :B
Anyway, one horrible song that would get stuck in my head whenever I was unfortunate enough to be near someone playing it was that awful "Hollowbreck girls", or whatever the hell it's called. I'm not wasting time looking that piece of crap up.
For those who know what song I'm talking about, I'm sure you agree.
Maximum the Hormone (http://www.maximumthehormone.net)'s Zetsubou Billy and Kuso Breakin No Breakin Lily (particully the ending repitition of "Kuso breaking no breakin lilly (lilly); Lilly without you")
Whatever this song is, I got it stuck in my head last night. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tD-N-POj23M) Maybe it's the combination of music and imagery, but it's still up there in my head. Dangit.
No video, but this is pretty catchy:

I find the chorus sticking in my head from time to time. Too bad it's...well, click the link.
The theme to ryu kenshin is stuck in my head and I sing along, I have the pitch down great, as well as the end theme to outlaw star, those are the good songs, the bad ones of pure EVIIIIIIIL are the songs Waka Laka Barbie Girl and Cartoon Heroes
CURSE YOU AQUA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's Levan Polka, by Loituma.
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=vjvVBCNcL_A
It's pretty damn catchy, I have to admit.
Ahhhg. Now I'm having flashbacks (no pun intended) to that stupid leek spin flash that spread like a virus a year or two ago. Levan Polka was the song that played during it.
Lately it's the song named "Navras" from The Matrix: Revolutions! It has the most catchy opening ever!
I've been getting Where's Your Head At (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8md51JnCNFQ) stuck in my head ever since this thread was created.
I've got Jose Gonzalez' cover of Teardrop (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9B-h1EEsKDA) stuck in my head at the moment. Awesome cover, by the way.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHmYC8a_4cI: helix nebula from anamanaguchi, this song has been stuck in my head for like a month, though it probably doesn't help that i have it on my music player. it sounds a whole lot like it's the happy ending to some awesome anime or something...
"DRAGON", the opening for New Getter Robo.
"Stormbringer", the opening for Koutetsushin Jeeg.
"Dead Or Alive", an insert song during an epic badass moment, also in Koutetsushin Jeeg.
Out of the three, I think "Stormbringer" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I71tKoa-DiM) has the biggest hook on mah brains, full or tv versions.
One that I wish would get stuck in my head more often:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWyYTPmUKCw
my daughter was watching 'the mister men show' and a little ditty one of them was singing stuck in my head..... i cant get it out, and its REALLY irritating that its only two lines
'i love to row my boat boat
it keeps us all afloat float'
thats it, and it wont stop....
have a grasp of brazilian stupidity
