Ah, should we be worried? Something like...
Red alert! Red alert! Adder in the building! I repeat, adder in the building! Red Alert! This is not a drill!
Anyway...
Welcome aboard! Donuts are in the shop down the street, don't piss off the mods, follow the rules, watch your grammar, ignore the plotters surrounding you with intentions of dragging you into their conspiracy, and avoid people who are trying to give you advice: they mean to do you ill.
Have fun!
Advise? That sounds like you being here is a bad thing... You can't possibly be as bad as others here...
Just watch out for the mods; Ren, since he'll cleave you; the box; anyone who tells you to watch out for others. They're up to something and want to throw you off the scent.
EDIT: DANGIT JAIRUS!

So how did I do?
Oh, and don't worry Adder; we're all mad here. Why hello mister Cheshire Cat!
Jairus, you're not Alice. The true Cheshire Cat of this board is llearch. You know that...
And your laugh was pitiful. Ren could have done it ten times better!

No, Boxy is more like the Queen of Hearts. "Off with his head," and all that.

Oh, ouch. I feel like my evilness has been insulted. I have been skewered by your comeback. Oh, the pain.

Very true. Except that I can see him disappearing slowly, with the tape peeling back, the lid folding in on itself, and the monkey tails being left for last.

And your sarcasm doesn't hold a candle to the mods. Especially DM, Damaris, and, of course, llearch.

So, Boxy is actually the Cheshire Queen? Or the Queen of Cheshire? Hm, interesting...

Which is probably why I'm not a mod. Then again, I have no intentions for such a position.
I think you'd be rather good at it, as you're very level-headed. But it's not up to me to decide.

"Level-headed." Hm, I don't think I've ever had that term used to describe me before. Anyway, thank you, but I highly doubt they'd want me.
Anyway, back on topic, if you ever look at this thread again, Magnus_Adder, this should give you a pretty good idea of how things go here. Albeit, it rarely gets this bad, but it gets pretty crazy sometimes. Usually about this point Boxy (llearch n'n'daCorna), would step in and say something funny.
Usually, when you mention him and being silly, he doesn't come. You have to be silly on your own to summon him. And give him the souls of 5 newbies. And this isn't even close to how bad it gets here. Just look in the Arena for a good barometer.
Ah, and that's another thing, Adder: the Arena (http://clockworkmansion.com/forum/index.php/board,13.0.html) is kind of the board's "official" silly place, though most of it's pretty silly. Fun little games that we play down there. Drop by! We could use a little fresh blood.
Should we sing Avenue Q songs to attack the Box? Or perhaps reenact Monty Python sketches via forum posts?
Bravely bold Sir Robin,
Road forth from Camelot!
He was not afraid to die,
Oh brave sir Robin!
He was not at all afraid to be killed in nasty ways?
I would be. :B
Brave brave brave brave Sir Robin!
He was not in the least bit scared to be mashed into a pulp,
Or to have his eyes gouged out, and his elbows broken!
To have his kneecaps split, and his body burned away,
And his limbs all hacked and mangled, Brave Sir Robin!
His head smashed in and his heart cut out.
His liver removed bowels unplugged.
His nostrils raped and his bottom burned up.
And his ...........
That's enough music for now, lads.
Hm...
In any great adventure, if you don't want to lose,
Victory depends upon the people that you choose.
So listen Arthur, darling, closely to this news:
We won't succeed on Broadway if we don't have any Jews.
No more Python. I think we can do better than that.
Okay...
"Look at these people! Look at these humans! From the day they arrive on the planet, and blinking step into the sun, there's more to see than can ever be seen, more to... no, wait, sorry, that's The Lion King, but my point still stands!" - The Tenth Doctor, The Christmas Invasion
"Look at me, I'm wearing a vegetable."
-Tenth Doctor.
"Dunno. Didn't want to say "Magic Door."" - Tenth Doctor, The Lady in the Fireplace
"Hello." *Stops, taken aback* "New teeth. That's weird." -Tenth Doctor.
Ah, a cut scene. Nice.
"Ooh, bet the queen loved her."
"Oh, she did. They got on very well in fact."
"What, the King's wife and his girlfriend?"
"France, different planet."
Rose, Doctor, Mickey, Doctor
"Take a good look. 'cause sooner or later, you're gonna be shaving it."
-Tenth Doctor.
"Even monsters have nightmares, Reinette."
"What do monster have nightmares about?"
"Me!"
Doctor and Reinette
Hm... we seem to have moved away from welcoming Adder. Perhaps we should move over to the Quote Game so that Boxy isn't annoyed when he returns.
"It's not pretty when they blow..." ~Blink
I'd be more afraid of Damaris or Darkmoon. They seem more likely to blow than llearch. Though I fear the day llearch does blow.
Puff. Puff.
Scared now?
A little.
OK guys you are starting to scare jed. *holds up puppet* right jed?
*talks out the side of his mouth* heck no fool, lets set something on fire...
fires pretty. mwhahaha!..

He's catching on!
Just a warning, you can get in trouble for Role-Playing outside of the Role-Playing Forum. Of course, since we are tied to DMFA, I have to imagine that puppets would be allowed... or at least tolerated. I don't know.
You can also get in trouble for Persistent Stupidity Whilst Not Being A Troll, otherwise known as rule ten... ;-]
Ah, I forgot to mention that one! Thanks for reminding me, Boxy!
Anyway, assuming the adder hasn't been scared off, welcome to the forums. Remember to read and follow the rules, don't annoy the administrators and so on and so forth. This should all be common sense, but there has been a depressing trend for people not to do this lately. Oh, and have fun.
This is a lovely thread. Makes me think of Blackadder. The fourth was the funniest, I think, but the third and second had their moments...
Heh. I thought one and two were much better than four, myself.
By the fourth, they had too many comics and not enough plot...
i like the one that took place in WWI or was it 2... hard to catch episodes of anything good when you live in the states, hence why i have the internet
Hey, if it weren't for the internet I never would have learned about Doctor Who. But I still would have had Monty Python. But I wouldn't have the Doctor... now I'm getting weird.

That was series 4. There was also a present-day special made for one of the exhibits in the Millennium Dome - this was released on DVD in the US or something. Anyway, my Dad managed to snag it from somewhere.
The original series was in the 1300s. It had Brian Blessed as the King (which I thought he did awesomely) and took the mick out of Shakespeare a lot. Maybe it's just my fascination with the medieval, but to this day I think it's the best series and it's the only one I bothered to get when they came out on DVD.
I think part of its charm was that in the first series, he had a degree of power at his disposal - being a prince - whereas in the follow-ups he was a lackey. Baldrick knew what he was doing as well, unlike in the followups. They also had a much bigger budget. I'm not completely sure, but I think it was recorded on 2" Quad rather than the cheaper (but slightly inferior) Umatic and Betacam systems used later on.
The second series was set in the Elizabethan era, in the 1500s (I should know this but I've forgotten). It did a few interesting things but TBH I found it mostly forgettable.
The third series was set around the time of the French Revolution. I found it a lot more entertaining than the second series, but it still lacked something from the first one. It has the distinction of being the only series where he doesn't die at the end. (The 4th is inconclusive, but that's the implication)
**EDIT - oops, hit 'submit' instead of 'preview' - ***
The forth series was set in the trenches of WW1. It was okay, but not stunning.
There was also another special, called "Blackadder's Christmas Carol" which was set in between the third and fourth, during Victoria's reign. It was pretty cool, and if you get the chance, watch it.
Blackadder: "So what you're saying, is that if I change my ways and become evil, my descendants will rule the universe?"
Ghost of Christmas Future: "No.. no... I really must be going..."
