Methinks that perhaps a bit stronger of an incantation was necessary. :3
Or, perhaps, merely graverobbers? Either way...I did not quite expect this.
And now the start of the storyline we have all longed to see: The Return of DP!
\n/ >:3 \n/
...ok, those "Devil Horns" don't look all that great, but at least I tried. Anyway, I'm off for one last night of work, secure in the knowledge that this next storyline is going to ROCK!
:kirby
So, do we need to get the skimpy amazon costume out?
Is it just me or does the short guy have a black eye? If not what is that around his left eye?
Obviously he has never read his copy of Necromancy for Dummies. Why, that dirt has a million and one uses! Who in their right mind wouldn't want a jar of fabulous graveyard dirt?! A chump. That's who. Because only a chump would be caught alive without it.
Necromancy 101 was not on the paladin's roster of classes to take...
Though I was half expecting Dark Pegasus to make a return considering he's made numerous returns in the past of Dan's history.
I did like the note... it makes it seem as if the body was just making a round trip.

I think they're just groundskeepers at the cemetery. The uniforms, discussion of the nightshift. They're just regular blokes doing their job.
could this be the return of DP? or someone using his body for horrific rites? maybe someone wanted to use a dead villain as a coffee table? Who wouldn't want a dead villain as a coffee table? I know I would.
I'm gonna keep watching ^_^
*sips his tea and glaces at Amber* I saw what you did thar...
So that's how DP came back all those times. His lackeys dug him up and used some ritual thingy to bring him back :p
I mean, he didn't get killed, he got vanquished. :D
oh thank god! I was afraid that the story line would start chasing it's tail at this point, but this might keep me intrested.
And it may not have been his minions, you know.
It doesn't really seem to be his style, to leave a note. But then, who knows how he behaves while not being a super villain?

Yes, I know. Note the IOU, though - "one body plus a lot of dirt". Didn't necessarily say that Dark Pegasus was alive, just that someone owes them a body and dirt. Hence, perhaps graverobbers.
If this turns into 'Dark Pegasus vs Merlitz' I shall not be a happy bunny :P
I'm pretty sure Dark Pegasus is still dead.
8) If this is another D.P. story, can Dan get a refund from the corrospondence school sometime ?

8) Also, I was just wondering how much Dan's adventurer status may be hindered by him being now as a creature ?
( And if he needs adventurers, he must remember to ask for scantily clad amazonian adventurers, as he had not remembed before ... )

He always was a Creature, even if he didn't know it himself. If you look back at the Jyrras arc, you'll note that Moira recognised that from day one. Either way, with his headwings hidden he looks exactly the same as he did before (notwithstanding Fa'Lina's 'suddenly found attractive' remark)
The standard line of reasoning is that if your town is being ravaged by demons, you don't usually
care if the person saving you is a demon themselves.
Oof... yeah, that's definately DP's gravestone... not to mention dirt from the grave site of the one you're trying to bring back is a common Necromatic material....
Soooo... yeah, we'll see DP revived soon enough I'm sure... question is... just who is bringing him back and why? I get the feeling there is going to be an interesting event to come of this.

Tune in again
tomorrow on Monday, when Amber announces in her rant box that this is going to be the last DMFA plot arc and that she always was a fan of Joss Whedon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joss_Whedon#Opinions_on_character_deaths)... *cues ominous thunder*

That wasn't Jyrras in the bar that day. He was too busy working on a new project to do the social interaction thing so he sent Deebs inflated and painted to look like him.

Huh. I was wondering when DP was going to show up again.
A Dark Pegasus arc? Yes!! This shall rock! And thanks for the update, Amber, my other fave webcomics are all still taking a holiday. It's clear as to who really loves us! :>
Man, if I was Dan and I ran into DP AGAIN, I would probably stab him in the face at least seventeen times to make sure he stayed dead..Or implant him with a wee bomb in a fingertip that is triggered by a sudden shock..like the pulse of blood filling his veins again. Get the dang necromancer that keeps bringing him back!

Remember that it wasn't Dark Pegasus who left the note. It might have been one of his minions or somebody else with nefarious plans. The note also said that a body would be returned, but not necessarily the body of Dark Pegasus.

If you take a look at the archive page, you will see that the brief appearance of Merlitz occurs before this arc starts.
It also doesn't say who is going to have the flashback. It could be Dan or Dark Pegasus or even Kria (perhaps Dark Pegasus was an old flame of hers). My assumption is that something in the description will prove to be literally true rather than a figure of speech. (Perhaps little tiny DP minions tying Dan down like Gulliver in Lilliput.)
I'll bet 10 virtual bucks that Dan will die at the end of this arc after an epic battle with DP. :B

Amber..Make sure Dan does not die at all so they both loose some virtual bucks. :D
Obviously the dirt had a high grade clay content that can be used to form Homoculi or Gohlems...
which may or may not grant DP a new shapeshifting ability. If that WERE the case, there of course would be mass and density limitations related to the composition of sand.
I think Dp isn't going to fight dan again, I don't know why but I have a feeling that he's just going to give up on the whole dark god thing and find a new hobbie...
Nope...scratch that, maby dp is going to actually revive the dark god or at least have some really powerfull thingie...

I knew I'd seen it somewhere. Why I didn't register it was from that I'll never know :D
Note that no gender pronouns are used in relation to Alex DeSmall's date...could this lead to some midget-on-midget lovin'?
I'm missing something, I know it. Could someone please explain what Clockwork Orange is and what it has to do with this comic.
Ooh, here's one no one's said yet...what if resurrecting DP is somehow a part of Mab's plan (see #847 (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_847.php)). Really, it's just pure speculation, but it's a thought.

A Clockwork Orange was a violent book by Anthony Burgess, which was made into a cult film in 1971 by Stanley Kubrick and featuring a remarkable electronic score by synthesizer pioneer Walter Carlos (later Wendy). Rated X in the UK, it was eventually banned/withdrawn after a number of alleged copycat attacks whereby tramps were beaten up by gangs of youths singing 'Singing In The Rain' and only rereleased (18-rated) after Kubrick died.
The iconic symbol of the film is of a leering Malcolm McDowell wearing a single false eyelash.
The second frame of the strip bears an uncanny resemblance to this.

Mab is not going to be behind every conspiracy in existence. She may know about it, but I would be very surprised if she is behind it.
And thanks for the explanation Tapewolf.
I have but one thing to say.
I hope he doesn't have plans for any fae again. I mean... especially if Jyrras was there. After seeing his reaction to Azlan in a loincloth, I don't think he could handle the "captivity costume" from last time...

:U *dum-dum-dum* :U
Are you sure thats trouble you're smelling?
And not the scent of rotting flesh?
Actually, there is no inidication that I can see that this is DP's grave. It could be some random demon who's ten times worse than DP could ever be! Someone, get Kria! When Kria Soulstealer kills someone, they STAY dead!

The statue is the same. The plaque is missing, but hey, Amber hasn't drawn it for years. Heck, Dan might have vandalised it one drunken night...
It's still not definitive proof that this is DP being raised from the dead.

They could just take his body, take all of his abilities, magnify them, and have an epic battle with Dan.

Maybe he'll be a Clayface-type monster. I thought for a moment there might be a vampire left in Furrae (they need to sleep on their native soil), but no. There's no guarantee that DP was buried in his birthplace, and I can't see Amber bringing vamps into the story when they are quite clearly extinct.
So, I'm out of ideas for now, though I'm pretty sure the Undead might be involved with this.

Well, if Dark Pegasus captures Merlitz, Aaryanna might go along on the premise: "If anyone's going to kill him, it's going to be me".
And Kria probably wouldn't mind killing Dark Pegasus if the pay is good.
Remember those two British soldiers from Pirates of the Caribbean I'm wondering if we will see those two graveyard guards in the same type of a role.
