This question was inspired by a post Aiyno made on another forum, so credit where credit's due.

So, how long is your hair?
Mine is hips-length.

I put between shoulder and waist... but it's more just at around my shoulder blades.

Between my shoulder and waist.
Randomly measuring some of the longer hairs, it's 55cm at the front and 45cm at the back

"Short"

.. but then, that appears to be anything between 1cm and 15cm in length. So...

I've always wanted shoulder-length hair, but it frizzes out.  Mine is too long to be called 'short' and too short to be called 'long'.  So I haven't decided what to put.

Mine is somewhere past my shoulder blades... Won't grow any farther than that.

Shoulder blades counts as "bewteen shoulders and waist". Maybe the "short" category is too broad. Any partition suggestions? Not that other categories have a much smaller range, but a few centimeters make a more noticeable difference on short hair.

Short. Very much so, in fact.

Mine's slightly longer than Darkmoon's, a few inches pas my shoulderblades. (I put the appropriate thing, don't worry)

*edit*

Maybe "military style" and "off the collar" would be two you could use.  Off the collar would count more of the "traditional" male sytle hairdos, and things of similar length.

*ponders editing the poll to include "bald" "1cm" "1.25cm" "1.5cm" ... etc*

I think that would probably be a bit much.

I like Damaris's idea. If someone's hair is military style and has voted 'Short', please change your vote.

Is there a way to reorder the options without altering the amount of votes each option has?

Short, off the collar.  I work in an office environment, so it's pretty much required.  In fact, I can't get it to grow long.  I can go without a haircut for six months and it won't go past my collar.

I used to have my hair reach my shoulders, but I had to get it cut for college. :/ It's short now, but I still have the front at least reach my eyes. I've always liked moving the hair away from them for some reason.

Don't quite know the difference between waist length and hip length, so I just put waist. Whichever of the two is right at the top of the buttocks, though. It'd be longer, but I had to cut off a good 5 inches or so a few months ago.

Post by: llearch n'n'daCorna on February 28, 2007, 12:52:57 PM
Waist length, as I understand it, is down to the tailbone, or thereabouts.
Hip length, on the other hand, is down to the bottom of your hips - a good, oh, handspan longer. Or so.

Make sense?

Between shoulders and waist.

Is this the place to mention that I apparently don't have independent eyebrows?  I just noticed recently that they don't actually end; they taper out and join my beardline under my eyes and crawl up my forehead into my hairline.

I would like really long hair but it takes so long to grow. I've also heard it takes a lot of time to wash. :<

How much longer does it take to wash hips-length compared to shoulder-length?

Mine's short, but when it gets really long, it curls up and gets denser, so it never goes past my collar.

I keep mine cut short, no sideburns. Right after a cut it's just short enough that my ball cap covers my hairline, but my hair grows really fast. Two weeks after a haircut I have full sideburns and my hair is touching my collar.

It's ironic though that I can't grow a beard past five o'clock shadow to save my life and my moustache takes about three months to grow back if I shave it. (And still never gets really thick.)

My hair is currently shoulder length, but i'll get it cut good and short for the summer. My Inuit (or Eskimo for those outside Canada) blood seems to mean my hair gets really, really thick before it gets long.

My hair goes down to mah shoulderblades.

:< Bah. I hate having short-ish hair. I blame my parents. 'Cuz mom never ever cuts her hair (Her hair is like hips-length. But it's probably longer than that since she curled it.) and dad was a friggin' hippie before I was born. (He claims to have had hair that went down to his knees. :B)

To answer someone's question earlier- I find no significant difference in washing my hair when it's shoulder length and when it's longer.

What I do find interesting is the amount of time difference between Darkmoon and I- we have hair of a similar length, but mine is slightly thicker, and for some reason takes twice as long to wash mine, and four times as long to dry mine.  It's very odd.

My hair varries in length from up to four inches on the top of my head down to less than an inch as it starts down my neck.

I cant decide if that shoud be 'short' or 'noticably varries'

At one point, I had my hair in a pony tail to below my shoulders, but I got it cut short when I started looking for a job (not to mention that it was a LOT higher maintainance at that length!)

It took me a couple years of growth to get to that point, but I managed it... if I hadn't started it at 19/20 years of age, I would say that it was my teenage act of rebellion, but I was a bit late for that. :P

I've never had it shoulder-length since I can remember. it was already waist-length when I was in kindergarden (the waist being at aprroximately the same height as the navel as far as I know), but it takes about 10 minutes to wash it, and 10 or more to comb it.

And Reese, I would call that short. When I added the 'irregular' category I was thinking of people who cut only half their hair, or have most of their hair short and one or two long strands... something like that.

Last I saw, my brother's was about halfway between his shoulders and waist.  His fiancĂ© had had to teach him how to look after it.  Mine is running at around 3", which is long enough to make it look untidy but not enough to register above 'short' on the poll  :rolleyes

Mine is almost to my shoulders, but technically varies a little - right at the back there's a bit that goes down to between my shoulderblades, for example. I put it down under 'shoulder-length'. :P

My hair is currently worn fairly short and messy.  :kittycool

Back in the 90's, I had very long, bishi hair that reached down to my shoulder blades.  :mowdan
