I believe there are TWO topics on Christmas where people are already bragging about what they got...but oh well, this shall probably be the more original loot-counting place. :U
My family got me: a new sweater, some new socks (and I actually needed new socks XD ), a new alarm clock/radio/CD player, a DVD set, and a gift certificate from Amazon for anything else.
Using the gift certificate, I'm getting:
--Three books from David Brin's new Uplift Trilogy (the one starting from Brightness Reef), also his illustrated guide to the Uplift universe (It's a good Sci-Fi series IMO).
--Dragonology book (Considering I thought Wizardology was cool, I wondered about this one all the time :D )
--The first Sly Cooper game
--And the strategy guide for Oblivion, last but not least. I couldn't resist. XD
--(EDIT) Okay, one more thing XD A best of Savage Garden CD. :3
Loot. (http://janusd.livejournal.com/615442.html)
Found a computer case (http://www.pcclub.com/product_details.cfm?itemno=A1306542) I'd like to get with my PC Club gift card. :3
That's the one with the tool-free drive bays isn't it? Have fun.
Is that bad? I always heard they were really convenient. :<
It's good. If you shuffle drives a lot, it's more than good.
needing a screwdriver to get drives in or out of bays is -so- last century.... :-)

<3 antiquated screwdriver technology :love2
I don't like those "toolless" boxes, and you can't make me. :raspberry
*laughs*
You don't have to like them. Some do, some don't. However, you can't argue that a screwdriver is faster. Particularly with some designs, where you have to disassemble half the machine to reach the screws...

I don't think you mean what you think you mean. Never the less, I take your meaning; the toolless designs are faster... until something breaks. :mwaha

No, I'm pretty sure that means what I want it to mean. "Never go in against a Sicilian, when Death is on the line!" :-)
You
can't argue that a screwdriver is faster than toolless. Or, at least, not successfully. Not unless you're a hell of a lot faster with a screwdriver than I am, anyway.
Of course, it's fairly easy to misread. What I meant was, a screwdriver design tends to be slower to disassemble.
And, as you say, until something breaks, you're fine....
-Sleigh-shaped basket
-TRANSFORMERS the movie 20th Anniv. Spec. Ed.
I got a bunch of books
Some jewelry
A few work shirts
A heated throw blanket
and the Flu.
A good haul, except for the last thing.
I got:
A day by day calendar
A welcome sign with turtles on it
A YMCA membership (yay healthy!)
And money. Glorious glorious money. :3
I got the following:
* Time with my folks
* Good food
* Some quiet time
* a chance to listen to HHGTTG radio series again on the drive down and back
That's what really matters. Material possessions will pass, but so will people, and it's important to spend the time we have with them while they're still with us.
I also got a scanner, with which I can finally scan in some of the tchotchkes that I got from my trip to Poland a couple years back.
A Monty Python flying circus dvd set
A multitool (Yay I can break into Ambers house!...j/k)
Money $30 bucks (I always get that amount no matter what)
And a giant spice of bent anger...
