Title: [I.G.C. Chapter 05]
Post by: Starcat5 on November 14, 2025, 01:56:34 PM
05-01 - Ernst is not having a good time

Oops! Turns out Ernst thought that "innocent until proven guilty" was a thing in this kingdom. Sorry bud, but it is actually "guilty until proven executed".  :<

Dear lord do I miss the 'applaud' function.

Hope Aisha pulls through on her dramatic rescue.

05-02 - Awaiting the sensation of a short, sharp shock

Now I'm curious what a shattered guillotine blade would look like...

05-04 - Looks like Ernst is getting an axe for Christmas

Careful there. Things might be worse than you know. The blighter behind the Soul Trafficking Ring will be there. I don't know how subtle Soul Snatching spells are, so there is a chance your suffering won't end with your bodily functions.  :<

That is a horrifying thought.

Come on, Risen, mi amiga, don't let us down.

05-06 - Last words

As far as "No, YOU!" goes, this was a good one.

Indeed.

05-07 - This would be more dramatic if he didn't also appear in Dark Lord Rising

On top of what the title says, that is NOT the sound of an axe lodging itself into an execution block. More like Wolverine unsheathing his claws.  >:3

Heh, indeed. Sounds like the condemned (to whit, Ernst) got some unexpected legal aid.

05-08 - Wrong kind of head in the basket

Executing an executioner's axe. That is a new one.

05-09 - 100 percent proof

Well, they won over the popular vote. Sadly, this is not a democracy. O'kaar has just been shown guilty of a Capital Offence. He now has no choice but to wipe out all the witnesses and blame the Rampage on the Demon. Again.

Yes, but if Aisha and the guild have done the thing properly, I doubt the 'good' Captain will get that chance.

Moot point. The fool has backed himself into a corner. His only options now are to 1) surrender his head willingly, or 2) take as many people with him as possible in a last ditch attempt at survival.

It's worth considering that Abisin has: 1. All or most of the guards under his command, and 2. The blessing of Lord Amadeus who is in charge of this region and is also part of the conspiracy.

And while it becoming common knowledge that Lord Amadeus is also committing a capital crime isn't great, there's still the fear factor in that the populace know that if anyone talks, they'll end up in a soul-gem too.
