I'm glad for the update, but I wish she wouldn't belittle herself like this. Also, she put off Daniel in a dress! Why, oh why did she delay such a hilarious thing?

7 hour drive...resulting in me arriving back in Canada at 2 AM Thursday morning. :3
Most likely because it requires less work in the coloring department. (Darn. Ninja-ed.)
Kekekeke. Let's keep the support for the comic to continue living up. >:3
She lives! YAY! Cool comic.
I think ive done the Anime rip off.
hmm... done an inside joke..
AND have made charecters based off games...
I need to be slapped by a comic guru...
wow, I have a buffer of more than 400 pages(not including fancomics), but no web page, no fanbase, and really crappy goth/anime style artwork... does that mean once I get my webpage up in running that it will outlive Ambers?
I don't think i can make that many since highschool is not being so evil. When football season ends I'll start to draw alot more then I use to.
Edit: That reminds me, Im afraid of looking into my DA inbox sincei havn't been on in awile. Ive tried to get on in the past but I always got interrupted.
I can't draw, so I'm all set, it seems.
Your comics wins cause it makes people laugh at something more than puns and your art rocks.
Aww, don't feel bad. *Pats the Amber* :3

:footinmouth Ouch. I hope your string of bad luck stops soon. Besides, I can wait. It gives us more time to speculate.
i fall into all of ambers cliches as well >< and i still think i suck ><

And some guys expect gals have some least some hair there! Amber in a wig....Yikes! :erk
About the cliche thing, I think it's using it on purpose that would be the bad thing. Not just doing it because... well, that's how you've done it.
lol... the comic is nice enough even with all the clichés. but one thing I must agreeis the other's char thing. most comics I saw that did that (actually DMFA is the only exception) died quickly, and I think DMFA could have bad turns if Amber kept adding loads of other people's chars for crucial roles like some people do

Jack has also managed this, only keeping the roles smaller for the most part. The only exception was with Silverblue, who he had her as the protaganist of an entire arc (and one of the most memorable arcs at that). I bet half her popularity comes from showing up in the Jack comic in such a role.
Then again, David Hopkins also is an epic story teller that'll leave you convulsing on the floor over the amount of emotion that pours out of his work.
It's probably for the best that I don't do anything but the occasional doodle. I mean, if I did do a comic it would be something that people could point to and silently scream; Their tears mixing with blood and collecting in pools deep enough to send little paper boats across.
On a side note, Fluffy is one of my favorite characters :3

Uh cochise no offense but this be the Dan and Mab's Furry Adventures forum. You're looking for the Jack forums, Cochise Megillah Macguffin Jones Amblerash III, Esq.
Cliché or not...Amber is still good how she does it...Least she knows how to add viva la life
Apart from the artwork which is good as of around 2002 and has improved progressively ever since, the world design is perhaps one of the real treasures of DMFA - it provides such a huge scope for stories and what-if concepts.

You can't outlive that which is immortal. D:
Well, it takes a special talent to go against all traditional advice and STILL make it good. That reminded me of the Fanfic section of TPM (originally a Pokemon message board) where there was a large list of things not to be done when writing a fic, and yet most of the best fics had done at least one of those things. I think the truth is you can do just about anything, but you have to do it well. Don't mimic what others have done, be creative. I'm aware that I'm giving advice to no one in particular, but it's free to take for anyone who can use it. :)
Congratulations to Amber on getting back AND on making a comic that keeps beating her own expectations.
but we should say... it could be a lot worst... ate least it's not a gaming webcomic >:3

Or a sprite-based comic, or a computer-humour comic, or a comic based on Amber's real life...
Aw, no Dan-Dress-Ups...
>.> And on another note: Don't do anything RJ has done either- which mostly includes mixing muffins and uranium.

Nuclear resolutions?
*sighs and pats Amber* Don't worry Amber. Just remember, Pokemon and Power Rangers have lasted for many many years, despite having stupid characters, overly repetitive storylines, innumerable cliches, and no point whatsoever for their existence.
The point is, as long as you make a mint doing it, that's all that matters! Money! >:3

And Trixi and Tet; and Sue Deer; and Vinci and Arty; and Gene Catlow and Cotton; and Joanne and Jeremy, nope, doesn't use many other peoples' characters, does he? ;)
Yesh yesh, there are many bad things that have lasted a far longer time, like cholera, the black death, and custard powder, so the portents would suggest a successful outcome.
PS. Who needs cream soda? Irn-Bru is legal in Canada! It's haggis-licking good!

Heh, a friend of mine talks about Irn-Bru all the time on another site... I'll have to try to find some some time...

Personally I like the humor in this one, all of them actually, and I also like how Amber strikes a balance between comedy and serious stuff. (for example #221)
Glad your feeling better Amber!
Hey, cool, I'm about to fall into every one of those pitfalls. Though to be fair, my friend's character is pretty much a representation of him; this will be countered with more references to obscure games and movies. And copyrighted material.
Full speed ahead, imminent disaster awaits!
if you're going to wreak the train wreak it well. as for on it very fore of my works have i people other people (the Beaned family being on of the few ecceptions) so i have limited experances with all of that.
one of these days I'm going to fly up Cananda, track Miss Amber down, then repeatedly bow and kiss her feet. Maybe then she'll get over the angst :mowhappy
Or maybe you'll mentally scar her in such a way that she'll never take off her shoes for fear of you appearing out of nowhere and kissing her feet. :3
Why would she want to take her shoes off anyhow..Would they smell like mine? Sneeker feet? D: Or she so much Godlike she dont need feet! :U
Zedd that is strange even for me. still i am coruiels as to why she wouls post a messager likt that after all she found love and many of us would love to do that.

The person who mentioned iron brew will need to be shot... I must perform an orbital strike immediately.
Okay to answer Amber's questions or advice or something....
#1 a Buffer...only a few comic artist have a buffer for long... Most may have a buffer for a some special event or vacation... but most just go off line. Just so long that the artist updates soon after like a week or at else posts something..most reader are forgiving. Amber should not worry too much, but we love her because she does anyway.
#2 No inside-jokes and other peoples characters....Amber does not have too many inside jokes but most people can still smile at them.
Other people's characters, most people are dying for Amber to use their character in her comic. But Her main characters have change so much from what the original creator's by now. That character are really her versions of their characters. They are only the same in name only.
#4 Amber's Cliche style..... Amber's style has inspired so many that it will soon be it's own Furry art style. mm mm Maybe it is already...
#5 Most Webcomics die because readers get tried of long break between comics or poor stories or poor/lazy art... mmm Amber has none of those things...

Don't forget the thousands of non-forumgoers.
I've just recently started reading the DMFA comics, and I agree with Prof B Hunnydew. The comics are awesome, every singe one :3 They aren't too long and time consuming to read, they are updated frequently, and you're always kept guessing as to what will happen next... at least, most of the time ^_^ xD
Personally, I do not really mind the in jokes and such- the comic has been styled in such a way that anyone unfamiliar with Furcadia (i.e. me) would simply assume it's set in your good ol' fantasy world mainstay, with strange characters and funny situations :D .
And as for the 'anime-styled' characters- honestly? I didn't really notice until Amber pointed it out :rolleyes *
*And therein lies the reason I do not draw XP
But isn't furcadia set in a good ol' fantasy world mainstay with strange characters, whatever that is?
I honestly have no idea either D:
Im sure there will be someone trying to steal her thunder but if they do...We will report right away...Amirightpeeps?
indeed we will. looking out for our friends is what a good friend dose.

That is exactly what I meant, Comrade- if you had no idea what Furcadia was, you could still read DMFA and fully enjoy it, thinking it was et in just anothe fantasy themed world.
Sure sharp things and mild splodives....Lets just go ask James for the boomy stuff

I have a Gundam Wing waiting with a good pilot me will it do?
BUt in any case Amber and DMFA is my best experience in my lifetime and I love every one of the characters. At the direction is Amber is going right now I see her one day displaying her art at the Guggenhiem here in New York some time in the future. And then the communuity of the art world will see her as she is a very True artist in every sense. I love her work and her style she should never stop what she is doing right now you have given us laughs and insight to your world at Lost Lake..................

i prefer wing zero as it uses they same system as my younger brother for combat purpose and it shares his name. of if i'm going to pilot or upload into on the Ebion. it's somewhat weaker then zero but it has a kind charm and never beat me in cards.

Poker or Crazy eights?????????????????
war the strategy variant. it's a fun game that's more about bluffing and out guessing your opponent then about luck and chance
Cool I never play those that will be fun.............
