I personally have no arguments.(Other than the one of you drawing better than me!!! *CLAW-HAND*)  There is truthfully a worry of concern that if I don't fly off handle and complain that it will result in a slippery-slope of sorts.  But then again it might happen even without my input...and I'd rather not make a name for my net-tyranny involving fanarts of my characters.

but you were smart about it and posted a NSFW in the title, and polite. You followed the rules about the content, and you didn't post this to be cruel or malicious.  And Rule 34 is pretty funny even if I'm not famous. So as far as I'm concerned you're ok in terms of posting.

Freed of the constraints of work, I've just got to amplify my previous comment.  The subject matter is grotesque.  The art is amazing, and it reaffirms my position that Rei Tei is the man to go to if you need dark and grim artwork.

I'm really stumped for a karmic response.. I may have to applaud and smite in equal measure.

But in all seriousness to the responders...and most of you have been really good about it...if you are coming into a thread that warns you of mature content(even if its just nudity), you are expected to respond maturely and like you are old enough to handle the content.  I'm not saying you have to agree or like the subject matter, but flat insults won't be tolerated.  Consider this a warning.

Also, if you are underage and I know you are, I would highly recommend you not come in posting considering you basically are setting an example that one cannot have a higher rating on an art forum due to the irresponsibility of the members itself.


ANYWAYS...now that I've slept I can make some actual comments that hopefully have a better grasp of rational thought.

I'm always envious of how well you can handle pencil-shading...something which has always had a tendency to turn me over and curb-stomp me.(one of the reasons I rely on colour so much is my inability to handle pencil-shade/inking hatchings)  You've got an amazing sense of line-depth and your foreshortening is kicking.  I like how in the theif-chase picture you have an integrated background(and tumbling kitty!)  Your ability to handle expressions is also very top-notch...which is something I always end up liking most about characters is how they portray emotions.

All in all, you got skills. Though if you Rule 34 me again I'm gonna have to take this as a sign of war.  Granted it'd be the slowest war ever...but war nonetheless...hones! :bunn

How's that for a war, the only casualties would be their clothing...

Personally I am glad that he got this out of the way, I was tired of people tip-toeing around the subject. Once you get it out there, it isn't really anything to get worked up over. It's just... there.

Yeah, you do have the mad skillz. Smooth lines goin' around, and great with the shading (I type that a lot to you it seems). The one on the left of pic 2 and the lower frame of 3 creeps me out. Too bad in those Abel doesn't have his powers yet, for if so there would probably be much bloody.

Ha ha, Do not worry miss Amber, I dont believe I will be making a habit of Rule 34. And apparently we are an opposite of sorts, the reason why I try so hard with my pencils is because I cannot do colors for the heck of me.

I dont have a Sheezy Art page, but I do have one on Fur Affinity and Deviantart under the name of "tohofuhai."

Im really not that... comfortable with drawing "graphic" sexual things yet. Though I can look at them, I feel awkward drawing them, so as you can see with Abel's pee pee [Lord, did I just type in "pee pee?"] I just put in something that doesnt stand out and matches more with the overall look of the pic, and with the sodomy scenes you see there is really no exposure.

Simple nude designs is what I would like to improve upon, especially if the character have wonderful looking fur patterns. While I may not be doing those a lot, I believe I should warn you that there will be some eventually.

Top notch as always...as for the uncertaintity of the teasers. As long as you aren't posting the images up into the thread itself but are linking them to another place there shouldn't be an issue. Just be sure to put nice ole "NSFW" or a warning of some sort next to the link.  If people are dim enough to ignore and just click, they don't really deserve to complain.

I was going for the fighting game style montage for the FC poster. Gareeku does resemble Jin in his sig and I think its a good look. That and I happened to play my old Namco x Capcom file again and remembered how Jin kicked ass without being overpowered like KOS-MOS, Rutee+Stahn or Guy+Ninja Commando.

I will agree that it is indeed a very good look, Rei. :)

... why does everyone feel the need to draw Samurai (as in, the guys you watch out for, rather than the ones on your own team) as -heavy- bruisers? I mean, your average samurai was well built, but not -heavy-, for the most part. As I understand it, the average was just an average guy, only moved like a rattlesnake on speed when it came to fighting...


I realise it's mostly a convention, and hence "everyone does it because everyone always does it" - I was just thinking. Well, that and admiring the pic anyway :-)

I know what you mean about that. I guess its some sort of stereotype that, for some odd reason, has manifested itself through the years.

very proffessional work, especially like the markings on the armour of the samurai.

Genbu is a heavy set character to begin with, so the Samurai part of his character pretty much just flowed with it.

Way I see it, people use Samurais to depict heavy swordsmen to contrast with ninja types.

mmm. That would be a fairly perspicatious point of view.

Interestingly, the original basis was Ninjas were the peasant farmer types - hence the design of, say, the nunchuka (admittedly wikipedia says there's no evidence of them being used, but admits that, since the ninjas were expected not to be caught using them, that's only reasonable...) whereas the samurai were the police or enforcer types...

which is yet another reason for having the samurai as a big heavy dude, I guess :-)

Always interesting pondering these things. And it's still an amazing picture :-)

Samurai were bodyguards of the lords of Japan, similar to the Musketeers in a strange sort of way, except their loyalties were to their lords instead of the king of France. >_>

Exceptions to that rule were Ronin; samurai who had left or had been banished by their lords, many choosing to become freelance bodyguards/ muscle for hire. The Samurai who still served under the Japanese lords didn't like Ronin that much, if at all, though some have suggested there was a jealously towards the Ronin because the freedoms they enjoyed.

I'm sorry I hadn't looked into this thread sooner now.  I keep wishing that I had with every thread I come across, to be honest.  The art is breathtaking in some cases, as it is here.  Oh and that Dalmation?  He's adorable, it's funny that with all that was happening to Abel, I was paying more attention to his facial expressions.  I'm much more drawn to him in your representations, King *.  <.<

The pizza thing was great because I'm surprised I didn't see that coming.  If reality were like a cartoon, I'd actually try that ... but since neither myself or the other party would be immortal or exempt of pain as characters in cartoons frequently are, I don't think it would be wise.

The last page ... well, very stylishly handled action scene.  Usually I don't see too many of those unless it's in either a professional or an indie comic.  The reason for this is from what I've read, they're actually hard for artists to do well because it takes a lot of study in anatomy and situational acrobatics to know how the body would actually react in situations like that.

Then again, with art like that, I strongly suspect you're either in the pro or indie circuit anyway.  If not, why the bloody hell not?  You should be!  Just like Amber should be, to be honest but that might kill her webcomic.

Anyway!

I'll try and catch up with what's already been written.  I don't know if I will because I'm a slow reader (yes, truly) but I'm glad I at least saw the art in the first post.

I do have one last question, though ...

The humour of your avatar appeals to me, wot with the poor polite bespectacled sod being too polite to respond to the insanity going on around him, it's a classic moment.  I'd really like to know what animé it's from so I can watch it and laugh too.

* Just to note, I'm not disrespecting Amber's version of her own character ... it's just that the Dalmation has a somewhat different demeanour there.  Sort of like a true English villain watching over a scene of horror, akin to say, Mr. Moloch.  It's rather appealing in a darkly amusing kind of way.

It depends on the context.  A lot of British people use it tongue-in-cheek in regards to bad things happening to someone they don't know.  Poor sod / git / bugger, et cetera.

To expand on the above, a little, I think it also arises from the belief that it's easier not to feel too bad about bad things happening to a person if one doesn't consider them in good regard in the first place.  Again, this is tongue in cheek.  We're terrible like that, it's hard to know when a Brit (at least, from my experiences, including myself) is being serious and when they're not.

This is for Tapewolf, jakob's shirt+pants look felt rather bland so I added a coat for an executive feel, then a hat because most of the people Ive seen involved in film seem to wear a baseball hat.

EDIT: *Quick MS paint* Went with tapewolf's suggestion and added some white to the hair so it wouldnt blend too much with the covered reels.

That's a pretty good selection.  I do like Shadrok, although as you say, his expression makes him look rather different.  From the strap I'm assuming he does have a parachute :twisted
Hare and the others are good, although I can't think of anything specific to add.  Except that I found 'Shotacon' more disturbing than 'Earth Elemental'.

And now we come to Jakob.  I particularly like the way he's using his tentacles to man the camera.. should have thought of that myself.

There's only one little thing I don't like about it - the reels have to be covered.  Whatever he was filming, he's just lost the entire shot  'A'  Another 950 dollars down the drain, as Simons would put it.
I'm assuming you used your artistic license, since having the reels there makes it more iconic, more obvious what he's doing.  It just reminds me of those photos of the hard disks with the lid off :twisted  I'm not asking you to change it of course, but if you wanted to, one possible approach might be to black out the spools entirely, and link them together into an oval shape.  But I'm quite happy you've drawn it at all :)

Personally I think the Jakob pic is the best one there. I think the style of the pic (with the film reel) really makes it stand out. Once again, awesome art there, King.

Tapewolf: Perhaps he's reviewing film, rather than filming something? That would mean it's a projector, rather than a recorder. The flare around the lens could be explained as a heat protector, to stop someone putting their fingers in the light and getting burnt?

Film viewers look totally different, and projectors don't have a viewfinder :S

One thing to remember about Shadrok's character is he knows magic. One spell in particular he could use if his parachute failed, it's a sort of air cushion of swirling wind that slows his fall.

I dont remember, I think it was either Ghost in the Shell or Gundam Wing (Or Gundam SEED when Kira/Athrun uses the Matchlock system] where there was a scene of someone taking aim and the crosshairs were reflecting on the eye (or was it a visor?) that inspired me for the eye design.

SSDD (http://www.poisonedminds.com) (Warning, rated MA for sex and violence)  was my favourite online strip before I found DMFA.  One of the characters, 'Sticks' is a sort of android grey fox, originally built as some kind of advanced sex toy* but later illegally modified to remove the constraints preventing him from becoming sentient.

Yeah, just try not to read it all in one gulp like I did.  It gave me very strange dreams for about a week afterwards..

My favourite bits are where the normally placid Sticks goes berserk and rescues Tessa, and the sub-plot involving Chris and his advanced intelligent database engine which no-one can understand when he dies (the bit with the urn of ashes is brilliant).

But yeah, I've always had a soft spot for robot animals in general...

Not really.

Actually, this is old, he's the porcupine I used in the old pic back in the old board. Sevelli, Knight Captain of the Kingdom of Aurelius. Also known as the "Silver Guard." This is his normal workclothes, he always wears a coat made of dragon hide to keep his quills in check. I'm not big for characters with facial hair but I adore drawing his sideburns and chin hair.

Oh, King's brilliant but he's not perfect.  If you read the notes on his 'Cybernetic canine' picture, it was apparently a raccoon that went wrong.  Similarly that amazing picture of Gareeku freaking out is an amazing recovery and not what was originally planned.  In both cases you wouldn't ever know it went wrong without being told..

Now it might be that some DMFA strips went like that too, but if so you've destroyed all evidence of it so we're none the wiser (http://www.jpmorris.force9.co.uk/stuff/icon_twisted.gif)

You know what would be perfect?  King's raw drawing talent combined with your use of colour.  Whether it's even possible to combine them properly, I couldn't rightly say.  But if they could be merged properly, that would pretty much be the definition of 'awesome'.

that's why I rarely throw my old sketches within three months.

I adore the feeing of "Hey, how come I never used this?" or "This isnt so bad with a few adjustments." when rummaging trough my unused idea bin.

I don't know the characters in the finished pics, but they all win at life and everything. Not to mention that I like your 4+1 panel comics quite a bit :)

Luciana & Midomi I like, although you may have gone a little OTT with the breasts, IMHO.
Of the others, my favourites are 'Mouse' (although why he doesn't simply try to eat it is beyond me) and 'Before me, no enemy stands'.

You might want to increase the contrast on those though, since the inked ones have a somewhat washed-out look and the bare sketches are difficult to see (at least on my monitors)

Yeah, I can picture it panning up on that picture, with the flames being pretty much the only thing animated. But the whole picture flashes from the color to the b&w one cause of light... lightning flashes or something.

one thing I wanted to point out, but I'm not totally sure...
isn't chibi a japanese word and thus supposed to be written on hiragana or kanji?

Not really sure on Japanese grammar, I just liked using Katakana for both words since its easier.

Katakana can also be used to put emphasise on certain words, sort of like capslock. You'll note certain words like "baka" or "dame" or "iya" are sometimes written in katakana. Not sure about chibi, though.  I would have also spelt Abel "Ebalu", but. Eh.

I think it would depend on how Abel is pronounced, I used Ah-bel over Ey-bel.

I can't really make out the strips on this monitor, but the others are superb.  I think my favourite of this set is the motorcycle wolf, but the colour ones are well-drawn and well-coloured.

Returning to the motorcycle, there is one slight flaw with the picture - I don't want to think what's going to happen to his tail.  Indeed, it brings back a memory of having seriously burned myself on my Dad's moped when I was about six  :U
There was a very nice piece I saw on DA a while ago where they had a novel solution to that problem - strapping it to their leg.

I'll have to see if I can find it...

Well, a good solution to that could be having something similar to what dirtbikes have. How there's that long guard going over the back tire? Have a wide version of those with sides that fold up to keep the tail safe and still let it flow in the wind.

I decided to start a DMFA fancomic. I suppose you know which character I decided to put my take on. I didnt put any speech bubbles since my writing is bad, I just put the dialgue on the Comment page on their respective FA pages. No solid idea on the title yet... "a moment of forever" or something like that.

The only comment I'll make about the gay pic is... why do people feel the need to make gay characters -so- over the top? :-/

For me its... well, I havent done a character like this before, for practice I suppose.

He looks more effeminate than Gay to me, it annoying.

Well, there's also the -other- end of the scale - the ones who are into logging and the like, wandering around in heavy leather gear with big boots on, etc...

I'm not trying to criticise here, KoH. The -art- is excellent. It's the subject matter I'm pondering, more than anything, I suppose.

FWIW, I have a workmate here who happens to be in a long-term same-gender relationship. In fact, I got him hired here. Lovely guy. Only slightly camp, and he's camper than many I've met who have turned out to be gay. *shrug* And yet there's the stereotype out there. :-/

The only question is, then.. what do you do about it? Any ideas? I'm fresh out.

I suppose I am espousing something similar... I want to create a quintissensial "gay" character that doesnt fit the gay stereotype. But I suppose that is contradictory in itself. I feel annoyed that this is how he turned out, so close to one end of the spectrum.

The Zedd-Aniz picture is absolutely awesome.  You've done a remarkable job of capturing Aniz' likeness, and Amber's style in general.  I'm afraid I must concur about the gay fox, though.

The comic is well-drawn although it doesn't make much sense yet.  I'm assuming that's intentional :P
And as you say, it could do with captioning - do you not have the software to do that?

I tried using photoshop for speech bubbles... but i cant make it work as well as I'd like, especially in latter pages where it becomes a bit text heavy.

The first two pages are supposed to be a flashback, with Melo being the kid in page 2. Lina was supposed to have a "*" thought bubble on page 3.

The original plan was only 18 pages long, but Im trying to decompress the story... right now its some 21 pages.

I find his lines way too effeminate for a guy, even a flaming queen. You've accentuated the slim shoulders and smooth pear shape, which gives him rather feminine hips and legs. I think you could give him a more boyish physique without compromising the ghey. >:]

the llama is quite well done, but the contrast between him and the painfully 2D washtub detract from the overall. its still a great picture, and really makes you wonder why hes doing it by hand.

Brainiac 5 from the Legion of superheroes cartoon, I used the form from the first season on this one, the season 2 form wasn't that bad, but the younger voice really throws the whole thing off to me.

A new character design... I named him Wilder, a pudgy technocratic mole, always put on expeditions and gathering information. Just a normal being, he's always been fascinated by the various creatures across the world and their special abilities. To that end he developed technology to copy various Creature Abilities, in different varying effectiveness.

-Minor Electron manipulation to create effects similar to elemental spells
-Holographic projectors for disguises
-A chemical reaction scanner that sifts trough Brain activity in order "read" thoughts to an extent, or dreams.
-The backpack can become wings or tentacles of various designs, metallic in nature
-The Car can dock with the backpack in order to add bulk for Dragon or Gryphon (C) configurations.
-His ace in the hole is a special engine he designed, the Causal Defractor which messes around with all kinds of "rules" be it physics, societal, logic etc... within the immediate vicinity to mimic a Fae's ability, but the defractor is just as random and unpredictable and its power only lasts for 3 minutes until it shuts down draining any energy that is linked to it.

This is the same chara from the angel pic I did a while back, I decided to flesh out his design, having a parasite constantly feeding off his flesh as he continually uses healing magic to replenish his own parts.
