Seriously though, what other types of corsets are there? I thought they all laced up. (Total n00b question, huh?)

There are some that lace up from the front.  Others lace up from the back but have buttons on the front so that you can fit it once and then take it on or off as you please.  Then there are those that only lace up from the back.

Edit:  There are now some that have a zipper along the side.  I am not sure if these have any laces on them.

I don't usually go for women outside my species/dimesnion but she is a vision...

The ones with zippers on the sides still have laces in the back for show.

Though corests with buttons i've not seen. i've seen corsets with hook eye closers in either the front of back, which are more convient, there are also corests that have laces in both the front and back

The ones that lace up from the back only tend to be the most common and the ones you generally find amongst southern belles, civil war reinactors, and 17-18th century british nobility.

Its probably a symbol for their mythos customers. As to why alot of ppl know so much about corsets, well, I live in the south for one and two, Im a big renaissance festival person as well as SCA. I run into corset wearers alot.

What is the symbol next to the symbol for women?

There was a similar symbol on the boy's room in SAIA (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_549.php). This might be the female equivalent.

Quote from: Amber Panyko
Hint 3: The symbol on the door is part of a ward warning. There are a few more genders out there than simple guy/girl...not to mention girls who made themselves guys and guys who made themselves girls full time and all sorts of wacky combinations of other things. Because of this, it can make washrooms and bathrooms of public domain awkward(and a bad subject for pranks) The sign on the door is more or less a ward that keeps those who are not part of the category from entering be it through teleportation or entering. The sign on the right more or less means "default" in Cubi...so as such only males who are naturally males or beleive they are males(Females who have decided to become male, etc) are allowed to enter. This is to keep someone from simply swapping their gender to enter for a prank.

Wonder where those other genders go to the bathroom.

Anyway, I wonder what Amber has planned. Hmm.

Like many things, the wards were most likely created for military purposes, but soon found use for the common man.

It's how the internet was invented (despite what Al Gore will tell you).

Except that the symbol seems to be on a sign pointing to the bathroom, not on the door.  Maybe it's warning that there will be a ward?

*Charles hmms*  Interesting... a ward to keep the magical shape-shifting peeping Tom's of the Furrae out of the ladies room!  I merely assumed it was a different language's symbol for female.  Being symbols vs creature symbols.

I think the rhino's a carnivore... just cuz Amber likes to do that sort of thing.

Oh come on!  We've already got a demon mare and carnivorous cow!  Is a rhino THAT much of a stretch at this point?   :3

So...er, what happens when you try to walk/teleport into a place that has that sort of ward?

Do you just bonk right off it and the spell fails, or do you accidentally teleport into a jail cell or does your body cease to exist or...what?

It would seem that something might bad would happen if they need to put a warning on it.

i shall take this opportunity to bring to light something from waaaay back when.

the ORIGINAL little red riding hood story- there was red and her mother, not grandmother. reds mother left red to live with her uncle as she went to live in the forest to collect herbs as she was a healer. reds uncle would not let her see her mother due to the forest being too dangerous, so he said she must prove she can take care of herself.

so he makes her wear an iron corset, the moment she can remove it herself she can see her mother. she removes it by literally beating it with her fists for weeks, her determination and bloody knuckles convince her uncle that he does not wanna dick with her.

this sounds a bit extreme, but my wife likes the idea. sadly there is a shortage of blacksmiths with lengere experience, so no iron corsets or chainmaile bras for crazy viking chick.

also some of you may now be put in mind of the undergarments of maid Marian on "robin hood, men in tights"

QuoteDon't let my name fool you. In real life, I'm actually quite big

If you don't mind my thoughts on teleportation wards (slightly D&D influenced), the ward would most likely either shunt the teleporter to outside the area that the ward affects, or simply have the teleportation spell fail entirely.  Redirection to a jail would seem a bit more complex, since it would mean that there would a second teleportation spell attached to the ward that automatically sends the perpetrater to the destination set by the person who set up the ward, or something along those lines.  The jail teleport would seem a little extreme, as I'm sure there are the chances of teleportation accidents, as there are many fantasy stories where upcoming magic users teleport themselves into all manner of incorrect places.

My guess (and I'll hedge it by saying that you could almost certainly design various wards with different payloads) is that you'd run smack into an invisible wall.  That would be unpleasant enough to require a warning yet safe enough to get past the safety regulations if it's properly marked  :3

Goodie!  Then we get to speculate! :eager

My guess is that it is a psychic effect.   You change your mind about entering.

Somebody with a strong will or a very good reason could probably override it.  If you have a very good reason, you should be able to override it.

Basically it's a warning that the changing room is gender-warded.  You might want to read the first page of the thread for all the discussion on that.

Really, now... Why must guys be embarassed to admit an attraction to powerful, muscular women? The female bodybuilders I've known were all quite beautiful and honestly didn't lack for femininity. Strong is sexy! (I'll admit to disliking the roid-girl baritone, though. Issues of illicit performance-enhancing pharmaceuticals aside... if genetically male transgendered and voice actors can pull off convincing female voices, real women have no excuse. :animesweat)

And, yes, Bernadette is hawt.  :kittylove

On a related note, has anyone else noticed the very strong trend in this comic towards females being bigger, stronger, and/or more aggressive than the guys? Kria, Lorenda, Fa'Lina, Wildy, Alexsi... nearly the entire female cast. The only manly men around--Pegasus (both of them), Cid, and Edward---are mostly dead or missing in action. It seems to be a stylistic preference that goes a bit beyond the "Amber can't draw muscular guys" excuse...

More backing for why Lorenda may think what worked for the rhino may work for her.

Is it wrong that I find Bernadette incredibly hot?
:erk :erk

Really, now... Why must guys be embarassed to admit an attraction to powerful, muscular women? The female bodybuilders I've known were all quite beautiful and honestly didn't lack for femininity. Strong is sexy! (I'll admit to disliking the roid-girl baritone, though. Issues of illicit performance-enhancing pharmaceuticals aside... if genetically male transgendered and voice actors can pull off convincing female voices, real women have no excuse. :animesweat)

And, yes, Bernadette is hawt.  :kittylove

Female Bodybuilder can be cute and all, I love the muscles, too.  Yet I find that they just look wrong somehow when they are in their competing body mode.  Sorry, I like the boobies to have some fat in them as well as the hips.  But the girls in championships have to have a body fat of that seem like 3-5%.  That is too much even for a guy, whom I also find unattractive during championships.  Maybe it is the arteries popping out, that I find gross.
