i shall take this opportunity to bring to light something from waaaay back when.

the ORIGINAL little red riding hood story- there was red and her mother, not grandmother. reds mother left red to live with her uncle as she went to live in the forest to collect herbs as she was a healer. reds uncle would not let her see her mother due to the forest being too dangerous, so he said she must prove she can take care of herself.

so he makes her wear an iron corset, the moment she can remove it herself she can see her mother. she removes it by literally beating it with her fists for weeks, her determination and bloody knuckles convince her uncle that he does not wanna dick with her.

this sounds a bit extreme, but my wife likes the idea. sadly there is a shortage of blacksmiths with lengere experience, so no iron corsets or chainmaile bras for crazy viking chick.

also some of you may now be put in mind of the undergarments of maid Marian on "robin hood, men in tights"

QuoteDon't let my name fool you. In real life, I'm actually quite big

and drink it from a fountain;
that is pouring like an avalanche,
coming down the mountain.

If you don't mind my thoughts on teleportation wards (slightly D&D influenced), the ward would most likely either shunt the teleporter to outside the area that the ward affects, or simply have the teleportation spell fail entirely.  Redirection to a jail would seem a bit more complex, since it would mean that there would a second teleportation spell attached to the ward that automatically sends the perpetrater to the destination set by the person who set up the ward, or something along those lines.  The jail teleport would seem a little extreme, as I'm sure there are the chances of teleportation accidents, as there are many fantasy stories where upcoming magic users teleport themselves into all manner of incorrect places.

Think she'll summon the keystone cops to deal with shoplifters?

*Wonders why he bothered making a joke no one will get*
That's okay, I polymorphed my d into a D.

Oh my dear god.  *Hugs* xD

Btw, today's strip made reminded me of this little ytmnd.

So...er, what happens when you try to walk/teleport into a place that has that sort of ward?

It would seem that something might bad would happen if they need to put a warning on it.

My guess (and I'll hedge it by saying that you could almost certainly design various wards with different payloads) is that you'd run smack into an invisible wall.  That would be unpleasant enough to require a warning yet safe enough to get past the safety regulations if it's properly marked  :3

I can't help myself, but Bernadette looks like the ultimate stereotyped Oktoberfest waitress.
(or any bavarian beer garden waitress)

I said you get a cookie, not a 5 paragraph explanation of the functions behind a gender-restricting ward.  :U
Goodie!  Then we get to speculate! :eager

My guess is that it is a psychic effect.   You change your mind about entering.

Somebody with a strong will or a very good reason could probably override it.  If you have a very good reason, you should be able to override it.
Stig Hemmer, at your disservice.

I still say Bernadette is hot, which is a first because I never saw a rino that I would consider hot.

Though I must say Amber you have an intresting way of making a comic funny and unpredictable.

Yes, I do post just to see my own words on the screen.

Here's a hot rhino.  Look!  She's all wet!  Another hot rhino.

Officially not funny, Luser. Also, what the Hell is up with that other gender symbol next to the female one on the door for the changing rooms? It looks like an alchemical symbol.

Basically it's a warning that the changing room is gender-warded.  You might want to read the first page of the thread for all the discussion on that.

Yeah, I know.  I just read Madmann's post, and that idea grabbed hold of my mind, and I had to post it.

Really, now... Why must guys be embarassed to admit an attraction to powerful, muscular women? The female bodybuilders I've known were all quite beautiful and honestly didn't lack for femininity. Strong is sexy! (I'll admit to disliking the roid-girl baritone, though. Issues of illicit performance-enhancing pharmaceuticals aside... if genetically male transgendered and voice actors can pull off convincing female voices, real women have no excuse. :animesweat)

And, yes, Bernadette is hawt.  :kittylove

On a related note, has anyone else noticed the very strong trend in this comic towards females being bigger, stronger, and/or more aggressive than the guys? Kria, Lorenda, Fa'Lina, Wildy, Alexsi... nearly the entire female cast. The only manly men around--Pegasus (both of them), Cid, and Edward---are mostly dead or missing in action. It seems to be a stylistic preference that goes a bit beyond the "Amber can't draw muscular guys" excuse...

The same thing we do every night, Pinky...

Kenji

Must be from all those powerful male rolemodels Amber has.  :januscat

Hey, I'll admit that Bernadette's got it goin' on.  I've never been turned on by Amber's style, though.

Sirios Skywolf

why has no one mentioned the awesomeness of her hair?

Truly, truly, truly excellent, Amber.

Oh yeah, and muscles are cool too.

*Charles nods*  Yes.  Yes it is.  You're obviously deranged and require a full frontal lobotomy.  *pages Dr. Ink for surgery... we lack a surgery smiley, but this will suffice...  :knifed   It is Dr. Ink, after all.*

More backing for why Lorenda may think what worked for the rhino may work for her.
