Now, only one question remains. He is still a time traveler as well, or just reallreallyreallyreally smart.
Also, Amber did gives us several hints.......obvious to the point of being too obvious and hiding his nature.
1. Like all dragon's, he has gold eyes.
2. His wings are more dragon like the demon or cubi.
3. The spike on his tail is also more like that of a dragon's then a demon, and we haven't seen any cubi with spiked tails
4. He loves games and gambling.
5. He covets(hoards) that bracelet on his tail
6. He is exceptionally, almost impossibly bright.

Variety? There's only one type of dragon listed. They're typical for creatures, super powerful, long lived, etc. I dont think Pyro time travels so much has he's been alive for a long time.
But how would he know the future unless he's been alive so long that the universe returned to the beginning?

Amber's described mind reading before, and the easiest to perform only scans surface thoughts. Your hand in a game of poker is exactly the type of surface thought that would fall under the category. He's not a sage, just a cheater.
That wouldnt tell him who is going to win a race though. Unless the races were rigged, he'd either have to be psychic or know in advanced.
I'm not sure where it's mentioned that he wins horse races (or griffon races... or whatever), but gambling is probably one of the worst things to describe why or how someone time travels; saving the world, having sex with your great, great, grandma, there's way better reasons to time travel. It's got dire consequences, too. Didn't you watch Back to the Future 2?

Didn't see this one coming. We know that he can transform into his "normal size" self so his potential relationship with Alexsi should not be compromised. Is he really small for a dragon? He fits in the basement. He might not be at his full size. I wonder how long it will take for everyone else to find out. I would think that Abel would have no problems spreading the information. Let's see what happens next.
Even if he was bigger, it's likely he's able to sizeshift too if he can squeeze down into a little two legged pyroduckish thing

It's the face. The muzzle is a bit too wide and slightly rounded. One way or another, it needs to be a bit more angular for any traditional dragon look I'm familiar with. And the ears combine with that, too. On the other hand, maybe Amber wants it to look like that.

Boogy has a point, Psychics are masters of reading people and most go into psycology as a feild of study...
and astronomically speaking most people are using the outdated greek calender for their astronomical sign, the earth's ecliptic has since shifted within the last 2000 years and will shift again in 500 years which means that everyone's astronomical sign is currently a month to a month and a half behind the greek calender model. Ok, until I saw the mention of the character bio update, I was thinking of the cubi shape changing ability (hiding or changing wings, etc), and that he might either be a cubi or have similar abilities. As for the "ripped out of his clothes" comment, not necessarily if the clothing was part of the smaller form's appearance (look at Mystique in X-men, mimicking clothing when disguising).
EDIT: Oh yeah, Amber, I'd love to see a wallpaper of Pyroduck's dragon form (and maybe with that other dragon who Dan owes money)

Abel doesn't have an issue with Pyro, per se. Pyro might just be the nice fella I'd always hoped he was. Abel hates Dragons period because of a certain incident in his past involving Devin, Xander and Creature-hunting. An incident which left him scarred towards all Dragons for life.
Of course, the reason Pyro might've realized this is that perhaps Dragons have become more benign over the centuries. Beings wouldn't be so prone to remembering this and they're more forgive or forget but Abel was alive, there, then, he witnessed the horrors and Pyro knew he'd have to confront the guy who lived through the dark ages eventually.

Anywho, in one of those hind site moments, take a look at Pyro in small form. Especially wings. It is one of those, "Holy crap how didn't I see that!" moments.

Mana: That's what I figured. It wouldn't seem right for Dragons to be in SAIA so I would've guessed Mythos or other (I'll get to that). Plus, it lacks the golden eyes that apparently all Dragons have. And with magical creatures, they might be advanced enough to sense what an entity is by aura as opposed to appearance, so they'd be able to get past the awkwardness of a person hating something just because it looks like something else.
Even if it hadn't been Mythos, I would've gone with illusion or reanimated gigantic plush toy (this is why we shouldn't play with electricity and life-force, kids!).

I can't help but agree, Sil. Pyro's Dragon form is as adorable as his Dog form, I'm also glad he hadn't jumped on the Cubi bandwagon. Cubi Pyro would seem ... odd. At least to me, for reasons which I cannot discern.

I'd say no, if only because Dan has already used that idea. Besides, Pyro knew that Abel hates him, although that might be explained by his super-dragon-powers

Pyroduck is an older Furcadia character then when dragons were available there. Ducky always told me he was half-dragon, but he would never say what the other half was.
Amber's character version would appear to be a full on one... surprised more people didn't guess he had dragon heritage... just by the wings she adds on to him...

I didnt exactly read it somewhere as much as observed it. Every time we see pictures of a dragon, theyve ad golden eyes. Now true up to this point we've only seen 3 dragons: Unnamed Red, Balorie, and Pyro, but they all had gold eyes, so its safe to guess that dragons generally have gold eyes.
Maby Abel dosen't like Pyro because he's disguised as a being for the most part.. he's living a completelty different life than what a regular dragon would.. then again, if that's the case, he overreacted to Pyro with the whole "you have 5 seconds" line...

Abel has quite the fight on his hands. Dragons, in any universe, are tough, unless you have the right equipment to deal with them. And in some universes, such equipment is extremely rare/expensive/both.
Even in the RPG I play with my friends, dragons are... stupidly powerful. Taking one on as Abel is doing would be suicide unless you're a mage of the highest order. You really need military hardware (like a heavy tank or, even better, warship), and even then unless you're in a destroyer or better you really want that first strike or you may be in serious trouble.

Well, we don't know for sure, but I thought he disliked
'cubi that did that because it was kind of misusing their heritage. Besides, Pyro doesn't make a very good Being with those wings, as Abel well knows from his own childhood (i.e. Devin throwing rocks at the winged demon-boy).
All he's really succeeded in doing is obfuscating what he his - but seems pretty obvious to me that he is/was either a Creature or a Being
pretending to be a Creature.
And as you say, it's a profound overreaction. He might not have told Dan how to hide his headwings if he felt that strongly about it.

Well, we don't know for sure, but I thought he disliked 'cubi that did that because it was kind of misusing their heritage. Besides, Pyro doesn't make a very good Being with those wings, as Abel well knows from his own childhood (i.e. Devin throwing rocks at the winged demon-boy).
All he's really succeeded in doing is obfuscating what he his - but seems pretty obvious to me that he is/was either a Creature or a Being pretending to be a Creature.

There are possible solutions to getting out from under Pyroduck, though which is readily available and which will work more or less depends on the extent of Abel's abilities and the relative power of dragons in Amber's universe. I mean, he can set himself on
fire. If he can do that, and move through mirrors, he might just be capable of doing something to get away, again depending on the rules of Amber's universe.
It's also dependent on Abel thinking clear enough to think of them. Hate can cloud the mind, and Abel is expressing a lot of it right now. ;)

Doesn't mean he lacks other tricks. Those whole move-through-mirrors thing implies some ability to move through solid matter - which would be just the ticket here. It could be just mirrors, it might not be. That much was never defined.

There's always the possibility that on
some level, Abel's playing possum. After all, he obviously has a low opinion of Dragons, yet this one hasn't harmed him yet. He likely has a wildcard to play but he's smart enough to wait to see where this is going.
So whilst he likely might have inventive methods of escape, I think he'll play his cards right and exercise patience first. After that ... well, who knows?
There's also the thought that Abel has spent a few centuries in a college of pervs, which might've coloured his view of reality. Perhaps he likes being pressured into servi... oh, Azlan already said that. Amusing vulpine fellow that he is.

Honestly i had never really considered what pyro 'was' very hard .. pyroduck was just pyroduck The duck part did make me wonder once with no bill and all (kind of the brown colour of a duckbilled platapuss though).. but meh 'what's in a name'
Considering the name stayed true to the original character's namechoice, I never thought people would really want to connect the duck part to anything. I mean, check the earlier comic with cameos from other people from Furcadia. Names back then just weren't very... well, they weren't something suited for a fantasy story. Dark Pegasus is pushing it, even.

There were two reasons I hadn't pinned him as a Bear, he didn't seem to have the bulk for it (perhaps a Bear-like critter but not a Bear specifically?) as Bears are usually portrayed as more beefy and when I think of Pyroduck, the image I oft have in my mind is this one (http://www.missmab.com/Cast/pyroduck.php), in which he does look canine-esque.

Oh and just to note, the Devin/Pyro theory was in no way meant to be serious, nor was it meant to represent my own thoughts on the matter. It was pretty much just a joke because of a few base similarities between the two and even I'd pointed out how unlikely it was.

The noses are different, if you look. This was already disproven, in part if not completely.
Pyroduck's bipedal form could also be a crossbreed, since those are prevalent in Furrae (I believe, someone will correct me if I'm wrong) and ever the sort to be a mediator (at least, when it's amongst people I like and respect), I shall offer the theory that Pyro might be such an intermix of two or even more breeds.
As for Dragonheart, I had much love for the Draco and it has nothing to do with the personally denied possibility that I find Sean Connery's voice somewhat attractive. <.< Still, Draco was a wonderful Dragon and it is nice to see good Dragons. I'm kind of tired of the all-powerful, omnipotent and evil stereotype myself.
Perhaps Pyro had a good reason to hide his true form and perhaps he'll go a good way to disproving that stereotype since Dragons deserve to be the good guys, at least occasionally. One can only hope.
oh.. it's just that in comic Pyroduck says "that's why we don't fly" and title is "give a weasel wings".. although he could talk about winged creatures that don't fly in general. Ah, well, Pyroduck has been my favourite character ever since he appeared in episode #70 - 'coz nobody who has so good first line can't be anything but awesome :laugh

The reason most dragons are painted as evil is possibly because they're powerful; they're like us, and like us the ones that have a lot of power (i.e. most of 'em) are corrupted by it. Then again, cryptozoopsychology isn't exactly my major. Pyro said "this time my race isn't involved" or something to that effect so it's safe to say he usually works for the creature council, or at least the draconicly inclined part.

persoanly silver i stoped responded becase i lost trak of what the topick was talking about.
Persoanlly, I don't mind topic shift, when it happens, becasue if there's something relevant to the original topic people will go with it. It's much more fluid and natural for me to have the topic of conversation shift around as one thing or another sparks thoughts in people's heads that go off on a tangent.

It is, originally from Adventure. That was the one I was going for. (Collosal Cave Adventure, to give the full name) However, the phrase also shows up in Zork when you enter certain areas.
(I went searching before I summarily dismissed Zork, as I recalled it being in Zork too... I had to load up a game of zork online and navigate to the right area to confirm, as there were no web pages that held the info!)
