Oh, looks like Jakob and company aren't the only ones having a run of bad luck. To be honest this is one of my greatest fears, aveing to go through a forest with little or no light. I'm not sure if they know the spells to create mage light or if they have any torches or even if they can see in the dark. Well maybe Dorcan can if i remember right Joshua had some type of infrared in his eyes so maybe Dorcan does too. Things don't seem to be Boding too well for most of them either way.

Lacking some form of artificial light, the safest thing to do would simply be to rest where they are and wait for sunrise.  While I doubt there are many wild animals that could threaten a 'Cubi, it's entirely possible to fall and break an arm or leg (or a neck!) whilst blundering around in the dark.  (This wouldn't apply to Dorcan, I'm sure, after the stress-testing his body went through.)
