Your method of organising the "favourites" folder?

My favourites is a mess, and not easy to browse, which kinda makes the whole idea of having favourites folder useless, since I can Google up things faster than go trough my folder.

Currently I have subfolders inside my favourites for:

-forums (categorized nicely like gaming, comics, misc.). This folder works, because there isn`t that many forums I frequent.

-The mandatory "Links" folder that my Windows always insists upon creating, eventhough I don`t use it, cuz it is too general and doesn`t serve me. I wish I could destroy it for good. 

-Emulation and Downloads: for all my illegal needs

-Misc. folder: TOO frigging much stuff inside this one. I should somehow find a nice logic to subfolderize it, but I just haven`t figured anything out yet, hence this thread.

-Shit: All porn and random shit you think you might live without and it wouldn`t matter that much if all the contents was lost. In other words, Temp.

-Opening Sites folder: A plethora of sites I usually end up browsing first when I open up my computer, like the bank, e-mail, University sites

-IRC folder: totally useless, could be inside the Misc folder

-Gaming project: has some links to a Finnish gaming project, too important to flush down to the depths of Misc.

-Juu (means Yeah) folder: The Temp of the Temp folder


So, please give me hints how to create a nice little "my favourites" file that actually works and could make my browsing reasonable again. I think the most help I would need is to get some ideas how to arrange my Misc folder, since it is so hard to find any logic to divide all miscancellous, and all good little "systems" you all without a doubt have made for yourselves more or less, would be nice to hear too.

Well obviously anything in the misc that you could live without probably should just be deleted. The organize by similar chunks.

Personally, my favorites folder is tiny. I have the few webcomics I hit, a couple of links to my various sites for easy of opening, this forum, and a subfolder for pages I use for my projects. That's it.

Believe it or not, I use my favorites (or Bookmarks) for sites I think are cool but I rarely, if ever visit.  Usually I let the browser remeber URLs so once I start typing or drag down the address bar, I'll find what I need.  For those sites that I don't visit frequently, I put on the links page.  Lastly, if I need it and can't find it, there's a Google toolbar in Firefox.

But as far as organization goes, I have no clue.

Hmmm I have it sort it out like this:
-Futbol (soccer): In here i have all the links on information about soccer, mostly national soccer.
-Fun: The porn goes here O.o
-University: In here i store everything that has to do with my studies.
-Forums: A couple of forums and some yahoo groups i visit.
-Misc: Everything i haven't sorted out yet.
-Blogs: Some of my friend's blogs
-Torrents: Pages where to find torrents and stuff.
-Games: All about videogames goes here.

I like Nang's system. I use that for every place I visit but don't visit frequently.

Oh, and I also have the default bookmarks folder, where everything when you first book mark it, as well. That place is where all the bookmarks I want, but aren't sure if I'll end up keeping them, go, as a sort of testing ground.

Seriously, I always have the quite large favourites marginal on the left of my browser. I mean always!

I don't usually visit sites anymore...I'm too busy. I've been writing up a script for a comic I want to write, I help manage two forums, but I participate in 5 forums all together. I have for folders: Forums, Helpful links, and links I can live without.

contacts- forum and mail
Links- used as the reference section
fighters- sites based on fighting games (needs expanding)
and a bunch of random sites hanging around at the bottom

I destroyed mine do to the countless porn and spam site my friends got on it.
