Presenting my eighth album of bizarre progressive rock type stuff, 'Baklawa Doom'.
As usual, demos of some tracks were previously published in my music thread or on FA, though I have been holding the first side fairly close to my chest.

I'd be interested in feedback on the music, though it's a bit late to change it now.  The PDF file with the lyrics however, that could really do with proof-reading.

The album is here:  http://www.dougtheeagle.com/bd.htm
I've started uploading to Jamendo, but it's not ready yet.  I'll post an update when it is.

...bear in mind it's designed to be printed so the page order will look a bit freaky.  I might consider doing a 'digital download' version of it with the pages in correct order :3

I imagine most people have seen Nyil's cover already.  Thanks very much, the impressionistic painting style worked very well on this, I do believe.   Thanks again to Turnsky for the logo, Ren, Keats, Wuff and company for their moral support and proof listening.  Mastering was done once again by Alex Balzama at Swift Audio Solutions, London.

As usual I'm going to try and get a short run of CDs pressed to bring to Anthrocon.

The album itself?  The first 'side' is a particularly bizarre and laid-back apocalyptic vision.  It wasn't actually inspired by the 2012 end-times meme, but I obviously got the timing just right.  Keep watching the skies, and if you see a yellow LSD face, don't look at its smile.

The other tracks kick off with 'Heaven's Army', based on the first arc of the webcomic 'Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth', and also a big nod to 'Private Sorrow' on the Pretty Things' cult album, S. F. Sorrow.

Then we have 'How To Build A Sundial', the instrumental track which remained nameless until Google made a particularly off-the-wall search suggestion.  At its core is a track I've been poking at and working on since about 2007, probably earlier.  Pieces of it were cannibalised into other projects when it looked like it was dead, but lo, it rises again.  Keen ears may recognise what later became 'Hannah's Theme' in the much-neglected Radio Project.

Finally (or is it?), we have 'Song of Keaton', a demo of which was, uh, demoed, in the Tower of Art last July.

'Heaven's Army' and 'Sundial' were both recorded on 8-track, the rest were done on my 1" 24-track machine.  Everything was mixed through my Soundtracs desk which has since popped a couple of channels and since I can't repair it, I guess I'll have to look at a replacement.

Anyway, enough wittering.  Thanks for reading and hopefully listening as well :3

Hee!
Just when I was out of stuff to listen to!
:hug

Also, on first reading, no mistakes found, though I never heard of Nanchester before.
Will look again once I had a chance to listen, and once I return from supervision in the afternoon/evening.

That's actually how it was sung on the demo version as well, that's one of the few songs in the set that I've actually released a demo of.  Basically, I didn't want to blow up Manchester because my brother lives there, so I created a new city...

I never noticed, possibly because english isn't my first language (besides, sung lyrics are hard to make out even in own language)

Also, amusing - in some families that'd be all that more reason to do it XD
As a complete aside, there's something very neat about the idea of creating a city solely for doomsday scenario testing.
