And in the case of magic involved, it would probably be a spell of some sort, that will be an advantage / give an advantage later in life, for the recipient.
Mab is acting sort of like a fairy godmother towards her friends. :)

Learning new words is fun !

That little 'Freakazoid' thing makes me pine for my childhood and all of the old cartoons that have been since long cancelled.

*sigh*

Growing old is such a hassle.

Old? Old??

Man, when Freakazoid came out, I was already an adult, at work, and didn't have time to watch cartoons.

You damn kids, get off my lawn. *waves zimmerframe*

Yeah, well I'm a flaky individual with a penchant for 'curiosity-kills-the-cat' moments. I'll be lucky if I live past 30 without somehow exploding my own head with a microwave, or from getting hit by a meteorite while stargazing. :P

You'd be surprised at what the average adult has survived...

I'm amazed that so many of us make it past the first quarter-century, and a good many of us here have doubled that.
Perhaps we were granted a boon, like some of the DMFA characters...

Wait for it...

Wait for it...

(I'm interested in reading about the Daniel boon...)
Which would you like to be, ignorant or misled?

There are certainly no shortage of boons in my life. I thank God regularly for that and pray my good fortune continues.

Of course, to be lucky on a regular basis, you've got to know how to make you're own luck and try to spread it around to others, but a bit of divine intervention certainly doesn't go amiss.

Earlier I called Mab a "Godmother" ... and just now I talked to a friend about the movie "The Godfather" ...
Which means I am now stuck with the mental image of Mab trying to be a hardboiled Don, saying "capiché ?" and everything.

... my brain is a strange place. :D

What the? More than half the posts on this topic are about being old or surviving to be old.... So off-topic it hurts....

I believe it's a sort of geographical climate.

You know, like Arctic or Mediterranean.

I understand that I was going along with it...

Perhaps you should have placed a smiley face or something then, because it just came off as irritation.

Like this! :B

In order to go along with a joke (at least in the more generally accepted way), you need to first treat it as serious, then add some new humorous twist to it.

For example, in response to my comment, instead of just debunking it and saying nothing else, you coulda said:

"That would be tropic, and before you say it, I'm not talking about goth clothing stores either..."

or alternatively:

"You're not helping"
