IIRC, currently he has right to be called "His Excellency", which makes him cringe even more.

Anyway, since Sybil started enforcing Good Expensive Boots(tm) on him he rarely have a chance to do the kind of streetwalking we were talking about, thus I decided that a reference to the "Captain" part of his career was more appropriate.

As far as Vimes, I can't help but be reminded of an Einstein quote:

"To punish me for my contempt for authority, fate made me an authority myself."

Appropriate for Vimes, no? :)

Anyways, I can't help but wonder if, given the rate that everyone seems to lose clothing in this strip, if any beings or creatures end up moving to the "clothing more optional" towns simply because it's too expensive to keep themselves clothed.  :mowcookie
