The Forsaken Era

This is an alternate reality, the date is December 26, 2038 AD

Quick History

During July 2011, things started going crazy in the states. Riots broke out due to the economy getting worse and worse. Soon the entire world started fighting, the people couldn't accept the changes that were taking place. When December 26, 2012 hit, the world was in mass hysteria. Everyone was blaming each other. The population's sense of security vanished and military bases were being set up everywhere. When every living creature at US Military base C36 in Alaska were killed (eaten alive), the population started to realize that there was a new threat to their safety. Towns, Bases, Cities, and Metropolises fell due to this unknown threat. The last of the US government was able to figure out what was doing this when they gathered up the rare survivors and questioned them. They found out that these special creatures (now called Devil Kin) that have no flesh (think fleshless creatures that kind of look like the ones from "I am Legend", but fleshless, and has claws and razor sharp teeth) and swarm from what is apparently, nowhere. The western half of the world fell into a wasteland because of its years of squabbling. Some of the East was able to unite under an evil society called the Empire of Arcane. The southern regions of the world were taken by another unknown enemy who apparently lack sensation. They are called the Necro. (Necro means death in Greek)

Plot

The whole point of this is to survive. You're in a post-apocalyptic world, not exactly a wasteland, but not exactly Yosemite Park either. Really this is a 'Free-For-All' type of RPG. You create your own little plotline, for example; a romance, a revenge story, trying to survive as a hated Necro, you name it. Unless to many people join, the RPG should be open indefinitely. If you wish to do a huge plotline, such as crushing a city, or killing the Emperor of the Arcane, you must consult with me and at least one other person you wish to do it with. You are allowed to meet with each other at anytime, you may even start together if you so wish. I will start the RPG off in a "IC" thread after three people other than I join.

Races

Felines: Basically the humans in this alternate reality. They are humanoid except for specific animal features, such as fur, tails, claws, and a face structure (yes, that includes the ears). Due to their years of trying to survive their toppled world, the Felines survival instinct is more dominant their conscious. In some Felines, their survival instinct is so powerful they are constantly feeling the pain of adrenaline. After a burst of a adrenaline a feline is either too weak to fight or unconscious. Please note that a Feline does not just mean a kitty, it can be any type of feline, such as a tiger, or a cheetah. (That does not give you any special abilities though, just the way you look)

Canines: Canines have always lived in their cave cities and bases. So when the world began to tumble, they simply stayed caves. Canines are very strong, not smart, but strong. Because of their safety they do not have bursts of adrenaline. What every Canine knows though, is weapons. Every Canine can use any weapon (unless weapon is bound to a different owner), Canines have the power to increase a certain attribute to their weapon. This will cost them a good chunk of their strength though (temporary). Please note that being a Canine does not mean that you HAVE to be a dog; you can be a lion, wolf, or any type of Canine. Also note that Canines are NOT mindless beasts like the DK.

Devil Kin: The Devil Kin are unplayable. They appear out of nowhere in swarms that vary in size. In their bite they have venom, venom that (if not kills you) will do one of two things to you. One, it may tear you to shreds and each shred will morph into a Devil Kin. Or two, you may be have been born after the Devil Kin started appearing and your immune system MAY (but most likely may not) have adapted to the poisons that surround them. If you get bit with a good immune system the toxins will merely make you lose your sensation and make you tougher. Basically you will become a Necro. PLEASE NOTE THAT DEVIL KIN NEVER ATTACK NECRO, AND VICE VERSA. BUT THAT DOESN'T MEEN THEY ARE ALLIES.

Necro: You can start out as a Necro, or you can later be bitten by a Devil Kin (that will only work if you were born AFTER December 21, 2012). The Necro mainly roam the South and East. They have no sensation; this means they feel nothing (As in PHYSICAL SENSATION). Necro also have the power to manipulate certain types of energy which gives them special powers, especially the mystics. But energy also affects the Necro's personality (this is why most of them are evil). Also the Necro CANNOT use guns of any sort, just medieval weapons such as swords, maces, axes, bows, the works. The reason for this is because they cannot feel; they do not know the right way to hold a gun. All the Necro seem to want to do is kill. You may put an emphasis on "SEEM". If you are Necro, please state if you are Canine or Feline Necro(and what type of Canine or Feline), these only matters in looks, nothing more. Also on that topic, there are a few give aways to trying to hide your Necro state, such as the fact that a Necro's iris is whatever color their energy is, and their pupils are blood red (for red Necro, their irises are a lighter shade of red). Also there will certainly be a scar wherever the Necro was bitten by the DK (unless he/she was born from two Necro). There may also be certain genetic transformations stretching from color altered fur to a change in species all together (but you are still either a Canine or Feline). If you want your character to have one of these defects, make sure to include it in your 'Apearence'.

Surviving Societies

The Tribes: Basically those who are in tribes. The two largest tribes are the Cheyenne, and the Tomahawk (they are mortal enamies). Anyone can start their own tribe with two or more people, or you can be a lone wolf, or you can simply join a tribe. People in tribes are those who either refused to join the Arcane Empire, or the westerners. Tribes are usually nomadic. This is available to Felines, Canines, and even any Necro that can hide their power or convince others of their goodness.

The Arcane Empire: They are an evil war based society. But for a world such as this that's perfectly fine. They use plasma technology to create giant barriers around their cities. The current Emperiors name is Emperor Caesar, a tiger from the South lands. The Arcane Empires goal in the world is to claim everyone into their religion, believing that total faith in their Christian-like god will end the apocalypse, they look down on westerners though. The Arcanians have a tendency to call Devil Kin "Germs", and Necro "Germ Spawn" Which unfortunately pisses them off to a great extent. This is available to any Eastern or Southern Felines and Canines.

The Necro Union: The Necro Union is a group of Necro that, instead of killing or wandering at random, seem to have a goal of some sort. They are situates more in the south, and use the ruins of older cities as their havens. This Society is only available to Necro. The Necro Union is ruled by the Almighty Mystics, four of them, One red, one blue, one yellow, and one green.

Lone Wolves: Lone Wolves are simply those who travel alone. Available to all. But be warned, people don't generally like travelers, lone wolves aren't supermen, you can easily be killed by one bite of a DK (Devil Kin). Though something is telling me most of you will chose this anyway. Unless you want to be in the Necro Union, a lone wolf is probobly the best belonging to a Necro.

Location

Location reflects where you start out, and what other people will think of you. It only reflects where you are if your Necro. Please note that the West is one large continent by itself, and the South and East are connected in a backward 'L' Sort of shape, slightly larger than the West together.I wont be able to make a map due to my laptop mouse breaking, I cant draw with a stupid pad thing. If anyone else wishes to do it, feel free to PM me.

West: Felines and Canines that start out in the west will encounter a lot less Necro, but will be hated and rejected by the Arcane Empire. Westerners are more acceptable by tribes to.

South: Felines and Canines that start out in the south will encounter a lot of Necro, but will be accepted by the Arcane Empire. They are neutral with the Tribes.

East: Felines and Canines that start out in the East will encounter an average amount of Necro, are more acceptable by the Arcane Empire, but will be rejected by most tribes.

Sea: The sea is the most dangerous part of the world, people prefur to fly over it.

Adrenaline (Felines only)

Adrenaline is for Felines only, you can choose what type of adrenaline bursts you will receive in certain times. You can have one burst a week. And remember after a burst you had better get somewhere safe and fast because you WILL be rendered to weak to fight or unconscious.

Strength: An incredible burst in strength, useful for those who want to bash their way out of trouble. Please note that Canines are always ABOUT this strong.

Speed: An incredible burst in speed. Great for hasty retreats.

Intelligence: For those who want to be able to quickly think of a way out of a situation. And operate some of the more complex war machines (such as mechs) in the game.

Bravery: Bravery can be just what you need if you have the right stuff and people with you. If you don't it can just be a suicidal move.

Accuracy: Never miss your mark... unless of course you're so stupid you fire upward to hit a target three feet away from you. Accuracy is best for snipers or archers.

Weapon Attribute (Canine only)

Power: Gives the weapon a more powerful shot/hit.

Accuracy: Same as the Felines Adrenaline "Accuracy"

Ammunition: Only suggested for those who are gunners. Gives you unlimited ammo for a gun, you still have to reload though. But it makes reloading faster.

Endurability: Makes the weapon unbreakable and makes it to wear it does not have to be cleaned or maintained in any way.

Laser: Unless already a LaZer weapon. It lets the weapon shoot laser bullets, they will have more of a success rate at going through your target. If a melee weapon, it will give it laser edges, that makes it able to cut through things better. (Not lightsaber type cutting though)

Energy (Necro Only)

Mystic or not, all Necro has a certain type of energy. This energy comes in four colors.

Green energy is good. It gives the Necro the ability to heal by using the energy of nature. Basically you're sucking nature dry, by sucking the life out of plants, water, smaller organisms, or even yourself. Green energy affects the users personality by making it care for other beings. Even if you don't use your own life force to heal, it does a number on your  own mental and sometimes physical health. Like a really bad hangover.

A Mystic's healing capabilities are stronger than normal green Necro, they can even use the life force out of other willing beings.

Blue energy is also good. It uses the energy from water to give the user the ability to walk on and breathe under water! Blue energy affects the personality by making them hostile toward most land creatures.

A Blue Mystic can manipulate the water as an unlimited weapon.

Red energy is bad, most Necro have this energy. It gives the user the power to use energy from any living animal to form a melee weapon, the bigger the energy, the more powerful the weapon. Some weapons you can even give power to. Like making a sword slash out a beam that can cut through steal. The animal has to be heavily weakened to suck energy from it though.

A Red mystic can suck energy from recent kills (about 15 minutes recent, and it doesn't give as much energy.). Be aware that, mystic or not, you can only suck energy while standing still.

Yellow energy is bad to; it allows you to use sunlight as an energy source to send out a beam of power. The more energy you absorb, the more powerful the beam. If you want the beam to shoot very far, you must sacrifise some of its power, and vice versa. You can only take in the sun's energy when standing still, and shooting the beams causes the paws to scorch, and you can't be wearing gloves.

Yellow mystics simply have slightly more powerful beams, and they can manipulate sunlight in all sorts of creative ways (Flash bombs, light gloves, temporary shields). But it does a lot of damage to your energy overall and there's a high possibility of passing out.

Classes

Snipers: Snipers are good for sniping, assassinating, lookout, and scouting. If you're real good and resourceful you can be a lone wolf as a sniper. But it's suggested you start out with comrades. You also can not use the better Melee weapons, just simple knives. Snipers can be Felines or Canines.

Pilots: Whether it is a plane, military vehicle, civilian vehicle, or mech. A pilot can drive it. Ships to if you want to take that risk (the seas are very dangerous in this RPG). Available to Felines or Canines.

Gunner: Gunners can use any type of gun. Although you might prefer guns like shotguns or assault rifles, gunners are OK when it comes to being a lone wolf. Available to Felines and Canines.

Varied: This is probably best for lone wolves; you're not the best at everything, rarely even moderate. But you sure can do everything! Available to all. (Please note that if you are a Necro and this is your class, you still can't use guns)

Medics: Medics use medical supplies to heal Allys or themselves. A green Necro medic can even bring people back to life, although that is very dangerous, because if the attempt doesn't kill you, and anyone within a 5 yard radius, it will damage you mentally, as in you will lose memories and the ability to think. Available to all. Necro still can't use guns.

Intelligence: The best for stakeout, intelligence are quick thinkers. And since they aren't very strong, they are pretty quick on their feet. Available only to Felines.

Demolitions: Demolitions experts can use any type of explosive. Demolitions experts are the brightest Canines around, since they have to be able to make the most out of one bomb. Available only to Canines.

Knights: Powerful Dark armor, swords that (with the right strength) can cut through a tanks armor, and a shield that deflects (not Reflects) bullets. Too bad it's close range. Available only to Necro.

Archers: Same as knight, just no shield, no sword. Just a bow, or any form of a bow, arrows can be upgraded to fire, poison, bomb, or anything else you can fit on it. Necro can use their energy to make arrows, basically meaning they will not run out of arrows until they run out of energy. Available only to Necro.

Mystics: The mystics are Necro that have more mastery over their energetic abilities. Green Mystics can raise the dead as a zombie army (it takes time to work up to that though, because after raising one zombie you lose have your strength and are prone for a concussion is you do it again, once a zombie dies its gone for good. DKs and Necro cant be zombies). Blue Necro can control water. Red Necro can make better weapons from little creatures then a normal Necro could, they can even start sucking energy from the creature while it's moving. Yellow Necro controls light in not just more powerful beams. But they can create flashes and anything else you put your creativity to.

Equipment

Weapons

Weapons are in two large categories: ranged and melee.
Ranged weapons go in these categories: Assault rifles, LMG's, SMG's, Shotguns, grenade launchers, rocket/missile launchers, bows (that includes crossbows), side arms, sniper rifles, and energy cannons.

Melee weapons are the simple swords, maces, axes, ect... all the medieval type weapons, and some modern ones such as bayonets.

Note: There are Laser guns; they are called LaZer guns because they were manufactured by a company called the LaZer Corporation. There is a LaZer gun for each gun type (Ex LaZer Assault rifle.), there is even an upgrade for crossbows that makes the arrows shoot as LaZers.

Armor

Armor is in three very simple types: Light armor, armor that will help in defense but will not defend against much, you will start out with this type of armor. Medium Armor, armor that will defend against quite a bit of attackers, it can even take the entire clip of a BAR, Knights start out with this armor. Heavy Armor, the most powerful type armor, some pieces of heavy armor can even deflect energy beams.

Rules

-No being too powerful.
-No triggering of story elements unless I ask or agree to let you.
-Post frequently. (At least once every week and a half)
-No killing other people's characters unless they really don't mind. At most, try not to kill them but wound them a lot.
-Don't. Be. An. Ass. (Duh)
-People who don't post in a week and a half will be booted.
-I'm invoking a strike system, first you get a warning, if you screw up with the rules, you get a strike, four strikes and you're out!
-Put effort in your posts.
-Sexual themes are allowed TO AN EXTENT. Basically no discribing any "ACTION" thats going on, just dont go into detail and be quick. Don't make it like one of those Furry porn stories on the internets. The only reason im allowing this because it might be able to fill in some writers block for those who do Romance plots, or whatever plot really. Just dont go overboard. (Im double checking the rules to see if this is allowed or not right now). One last thing, PLEASE if your going to put something sexual in, make SURE its between people 16 or older!

Location:  The West, wandering through a destroyed Tomahawk town.

Energy: Red
History: Nicholas was born in a Large Shielded Arcanian metropolis in the South, known as 'Utopia'. At the age of four, Utopia was subject of a massive invasion by the Necro Union. Nicholas and his family were able to escape through an old Canine tunnel network. The tunnels led them to an Arcane Airbase, from there they were allowed to take a plane to another Arcane Airbase on a mountain in the west. For 10 years they lived in a cabin that was significantly close to the base. 23 days after Nicholas's 14th birthday, the cabin was overrun by DK. After slaughtering his family, two DK found Nicholas in the attic, shotgun in hand. He was able to kill one, but the other bit into his leg and Nicholas collapsed on the floor. He was saved by an Arcane gunner who heard the screams, but was too late to stop the venom. Nicholas squirmed on the floor trying to keep from becoming a "Germ Spawn". It was a futile effort, after about 15 minutes of exhausting pain, Nicholas stood up. The gunner, who was a veteran and had seen situations like this before, lifted his assault rifle up and prepared to fire. But in one swift motion, Nicholas wacked the gun with his left arm, and tackled the gunner, he then grabbed the bayonet out of the soldier's belt and stabbed him repeatedly in the chest. Nicholas then ran off into the wilderness, fully aware of what he now is.

Before the "incident" Nicholas was a regular Cat, he had fully black fur with a white spot on his chest. His eyes were green and he looked perfectly normal. Now currently, he is tall (around 6') and not buff, but well trimmed. His fur is mainly white with black fur going from his hands to his elbows and his feet to his knee caps. His iris is red and his pupil a darker shade of red. His ears are usually down and expression normally blank. There is also the scare on his left leg that leads him to never wear shorts.

Nicholas wears an Arcane soldier uniform (except the helmet) he took off a dead Feline he found pinned to a tree by a large machete. He carries two knives in his boots, a machete on his back (the same machete), and a plasma shield on his right arm (he's left handed). He also wears a black mask that has special plastic on the eyeholes that let him see through, but no one can see his eyes. (An Arcane soldier uniform is similar to that of a Marine)


If you feel that I am leaving something out, just ask in this thread and I will answer. Unless of course its one of the certain questions I have decided I will not answer. Also, this way of RPing is completely different from what im used to, so if anyone notices im doing something wrong, please inform me and ill fix it. I will wait for at least three members, not counting myself, to join before starting the RP. Just post your character sheets on this thread.
