Such a familiar amulet causes the side-effects. Makes me wonder in conjunction to Abel's Story if Abel or his offspring might be affected by said Side Affects. :o

Long term probably means after using it for a couple years, not just one afternoon.  In a way it actually worked in Lorenda's favor, and it probably one of the main reasons Lorenda now defies Kria, since she recieves less influence and power from her demonic side.

Or that could be more along the fact of . . You know, Lorenda has a mind of her own?

Lorenda has already destroyed seven cities for some unknown reason, and I'm curios why?

Also, how can Kria be certain that it is a side effect of her amulets magic. Perhaps Lorenda's father was also a demon and the fault lies with him, we all know she didn't let him live long enough to tell her any of his family history.

Lorenda's rampage is only in Kria's mind, or fantasy world, her mother's dream of her daughter becoming a bad ass demon.  Lorenda has not destroy any cities that we know of...

Also Kria would know that Lorenda's dad was a being, beyond doubt, she ate him for gods sake, and I would think if he was a demon, he would have put up a hell of fight before being eaten.

*Charline grins*  Kria thinks like I do!  Sure, the person you're responsible for disfiguring may hate you forever, BUT if you can cause them to turn to ebil and destroy lots of beings, it can be worth it!   >:3

*Charles hmms*  So that explains why you do those things to me...

Well, there was that one comic where she was shouting 'For the Horde!'. They *might* have destroyed seven cities.

Amber said it all in the last panel .........

Hmm... I'm wondering...

That first panel, is that Kria suddenly remembering not really paying attention to the salescritter when she bought the amulet all those years ago, or is it her imagination stuck in worried-about-Lorenda mode playing a fun game of "worst possible scenario", like in the second panel?

Looks like the image in the first panel is probably authentic. Otherwise she wouldn't think of it as a possible cause for Lorenda's stunted "growth".

It says, ``Many years ago.''  That makes it sound like an actual flashback.  But I do have to admit that you could be right, and Amber's messing with us.  She did recently have a hallucinatory episode.

Would you like a googolplex (gzipped 57 times)?

Aridas

It was "many years ago" for the one panel. The faded tones aren't there in the next two panels, and I VERY MUCH doubt DMFA just skipped ahead "many years", as the second and third panels show Lorenda with wings... Something she's never had.

Your point?  I wasn't suggesting that the whole thing was a flashback, just panel one.

Someone suggested that panel 1 might not be accurate.  I pointed out that that panel says many years ago, which suggests that it's accurate.  I made no speculation on the other two panels.

Oh. I found other words that weren't there. Nevermind those last parts.

Ouai

Maybe its genetic.
Perhaps Kria has a ressesive trate for small wings and a dominate trate for large wings.
Seeing how the father was a being his wing trate would be ressesive all the way (for the sake of this, dont say "he has no wings" i know)

So Kria = W(large wings)w(small wings)
Father= ww

                              W      w
                    w       Ww   ww

                    w        Ww   ww

=50% chance of small wings :B

The amulet thing seems to obvious and too quick to assume, although I could be wrong. :U

Actually this does have some merit. The salesperson said the amulet was known to have side effects in the long term, you'd figure it would be Kria, not her offspring that would be affected directly. Assuming the last time Kria took off the amulet was in Abel's story timeframe then its possible that Kria herself may have small wings now also and the fact that Lorenda has small wings may just be an inheritance from her mom.

Faerie Alex

But does the amulet contain magic known by the state of California to cause cancer & birth defects? >:3
Jeez I need to update this thing.

Of course, we are seemingly forgetting that Lorenda's father was a being Bull that had no wings ...

I really want a cape like Lorenda's.

This goes to show that a person's past can be like a kick to the face. Same for magic, only different.

Nino

Well, it could also be genetic in the sense it might be a codominant trait.

As in, large wings + no wings = not fully sized wings.

I'm afraid that can't happen; WoW doesn't even have seven cities.
(atleast, only six existed in game at the time that the comic was made...) and half of them wouldn't be valid targets. :B

Also, virtial realestate is probably of no interest to Kria.  Though I do think she would look favorably on Lorenda playing on the evil side of the game. >:3

Of course, kids of all sorts can become bad tempered and angry . Look at the toddlers in a supermarket with their kids, and how hot under the collar they get getting shopping, kids, etc, home while fighting traffic ...    Rampage anyone ?

IS it me?... Are you just trying to be funny.... ?   I know I can be weird, and confusing at times... but most times it is not intended to be...
Very young Toddler kittens can't have kittens of their own...Who is getting hot under the collar, the cubs?

The young cubs get bored easily, and shopping is boring, if you only want toys... Hey, Traffic is boring to adults, let alone kits?

So remember Road Rage Kills....So keep your anger off the roadways....:tmyk

Every time i see lorenda in a strip i think "man i should really make a Tauren warrior named Lorenda" but then i never get around to it... because warriors are a pain in the ass to lvl.  Also im suprised you guys havent brought up the more of the fact that he side effects were LONG-TERM as in the "side effect" will probily remain even after the ammy is removed... and from back then and now her wings seem to have disappeared... this can be a result of many things but im just gonna cover the bigger ones:
She is still using the ammy, she lost her wings in battle or had them removed another way, shes usin one of jy-guy's patches... im just gonna say if she had her wings removed before lorenda was... ehhm... concieved  that maybe it could result in the small wings lorenda currently is burdened with... but who knows?! not I says me    not I.    also can demons hide there wings? or is that just a cubi "we can shapeshift" thing?
Ps, Lorenda is lookin good in 3rd pannel imo... it's kinda sexy in a kinda ~~evil cow gonna chop you into small pieces than eat you~~ way.

All I can think when I read this strip is "You know, we wouldn't have understood panel 1 at all if it weren't for Abel's Story revealing what Kria's amulet does."  And then I wonder to myself "so if the timing between this storyline and that strip in Abel's Story was off... how would it have changed that flashback?"  Was it always intended that the abilities of her amulet would be revealed and that we'd see Kria with wings before we could have this comic strip so that we could very easily understand panel 1 without finding ourselves going "What's she buying?  What does that do?  Why does she have wings??" or was it just one of those last minute "hey, wait, now that I've explained this in Abel's Story, I can totally use this as one of the comics in the main storyline!"

>_>

I suppose there's better things I could be pondering, but why bother?

I'll bet a Coke that if Regina had won the wallpaper war, the current arc would not be going on right now.

Also note that Amber's been doing a lot of bonus strips for both Abel's Arc and the mainline.  If one of the arcs got out of sync with the other, she could easily throw in a few bonus strips to catch one of the arcs up with the other.

P.S. For those paying attention, this probably means that there's a Regina story coming up right after this arc and then Mab's arc, since there's not going to be a Regina bonus arc.

Maybe, but Amber doesn't always tell us everything she has planned. I wish though.
