Oh no.

Oh, no, no, no.

Why must my eyes be insulted by Barbie Girl lyrics? Why, God, why?

Zedd

Unreliabel Dragon

yeah someone could have been singing the song forcing you to listen.

Kryptic

This is true.

But "Barbie Girl" is up there with "I Love You" from Barney. It's a simple disgrace. It makes me physically ill.

Or rather, sometimes I wish it made me physically ill.

Unreliabel Dragon

I agree those songs are a disgrace. I wonder why someone would make a song about a doll. It seems wierd to me.

Zedd

Could been "Cartoon Heros" Or "Witch Doctor" >:]

superluser

Witch Doctor would have been better.

Amy chance of getting some Tom Lehrer up there?

Would you like a googolplex (gzipped 57 times)?

Kryptic

I like Cartoon Heroes. I like doing the speedy-mix on DDR - mostly because it's not Aqua singing it.

And Witch Doctor isn't so bad either. At least once you watch Akamaru do it.

And I like Toy Box too: "He's my best friend, best of all best friends, do you have a best friend too?"

... Just not Aqua.  :yuck

I was losing faith, and then I saw "One week" along with "Sympathy for the Devil." Huzzah.

Someone has been at the Rolf Harris though... that negates it.  AFAIK there is only one situation where Rolf Harris songs do not constitute a crime against humanity, and that is when you bleep out some of the words to make them sound suggestive as was done on "I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again".

Rolf Harris?
Ignorance is bliss  >:3

I guess that either means it wasn't you wot dun it, or or the song in question is a cover.
Which might go either way, depending on how old the song actually is.

I went and looked. It's possible you're thinking of a cover, though, by Rolf. If you're thinking of the boomerang song, then yes, it -was- me wot done it, but it's listed as Charlie Drake, not Rolf Harris.

I -could- do a bunch of Rolf songs, though. ;-]

Ah.  Of course I will always think of the RH version.  I even know the song on the 'B' side.  I wish I didn't.

Only if you censor them.   >:3

For what it is worth, to whom it may concern, the scrolling news has gotten annoying.

What, "Two Little Boys"?  Checking the release date it's actually from 1912 but the popular version was done by Rolf Harris in 1969.
In 1970, when the BBC flatly refused to do anything vulgar, a certain radio series hit upon the brilliant idea of taking annoying songs and strategically bleeping out various words to change the meaning of the song into something that they shouldn't have got away with.  Llearch either has a copy of that episode or he's come to the same conclusion as Bill Oddie and John Cleese.

They also did the "Julie Andrews Dirty Songbook" which began with the line "All I want is a **** somewhere..."

Both. But I located the lyrics on censored songs @ everything2.

But if you cancel July, you cancel Christmas in July, my upcoming trip to Paris, the opening of Transformers, my aunt's half-birthday, Independence Day.... someone's gonna get beaten by an angry crowd.
