04-01 - Happy dragons are less likely to rampage, so there are lots of parks and amusements

This mass-barrier sounds like interesting tech. I wonder how much trial and error went into making it.

04-02 - Infiltration

Nothing is more "fun" then the crashout of a Handler finding out that their spy has "Become the Mask". :P
Conservative Democrat or Liberal Republican: You decide!
The Centrist line has moved a long way to the Right over the years.

I'd argue that's a horribly shallow argument, except it's completely true. ~ooklah

For some reason, the look on Colonel Quaritch's face when he sees Jake Sully's avatar smashing a bulldozer's camera comes to mind.

04-03 - Tell me the good news first

Interesting way of getting Fardon's signature. I wonder how dragons signed for delivery before modern electronics arrived on the scene...

Probably either very carefully or on something very sturdy like a stone tablet.

04-04 - Two wrongs

We once again encounter the prospect of the thing authority figures fear most: panicking civilians.

When a number of those civilians are bus-sized, proportionately strong and able to breathe fire/frost you really don't want them panicking.

04-05 - An awkward business all around

I'm a little curious how the knight's execution rota works and how they keep track of who last did the chopping.

vladspellbinder

The murder victim being alive has no bearing on the fact they were indeed murdered. Just because they didn't stay dead doesn't mean the murderer shouldn't be brought to justice. And in this case justice is a swift execution so they can't murder anyone else.

Mermul is a bit too kind and a bit to naive. Not necessarily bad things mind... .

The kindness might not be...

I'm a little curious how the knight's execution rota works and how they keep track of who last did the chopping.

At one point, just before they got food, Fardon went into a guard building where he ditched his armour and sorted out the paperwork for Mermul.

The rota would probably be kept in the guard HQ as a chart on the wall.

While some of them might be wondering if it could be computerised, the sheer convenience of simply being able to glance at the wall versus the awkwardness of altering data on a tape makes it a tough sell. (Is this the latest cassette?  What if the machine chews it up again? Is it the right side of the tape?  Did someone leave a gap and there's a later record after this one?  Is there enough tape left to store the updated record?)

Do you think the mass-barrier technology was specifically designed to handle dragon panics, or was it built for external threats first?

We never really go deep into the mass-barrier, and in fact it's rarely mentioned again.  However, it's magically generated and invented by dragons rather than a purely technological contrivance of the Small Races.

04-06 - At least he had the courage of his convictions

So, 04-07 and 04-08 didn't get talked about and we have 04-09 now.

When the methods of death were being gone over in 04-07 my thoughts did go to "eaten" as a method of execution so I was somewhat happy to see it brought up in 04-08 and fully understand the reasoning for it NOT being an option.

Now we've got 04-08 and a new deity being mentioned and I sort of want to see the hunter's soul wind up in the afterlife, Arbar there to greet then and just give them a disappointed sigh, a finger waggle, and then put them in "The Naughty Soul Corner" for the rest of eternity.

Fiskul has a lot to say about the afterlife, but it's worth pointing out that "The Punishment Place" is rather more fine-grained than eternal damnation.

While we may see a bit more about how things work for dragons, I haven't gone into detail what Mr. Tiger will experience when he's gone.  But it would be very much like what you're describing.  One reason we won't be seeing that is that he'll learn things which are spoilers for future chapters.

I like hearing that the bigot is going to get a wake-up call on why being a bigot isn't cool.

I'm a little curious what Arbar looks like, and whether the Human's deity will get a look in at all.
I know we meet the Dragon God, Alkrash later on
First: Wrong spoiler tags.

Second: I think, but am not tally sure, that Pax Draconia is taking place in the same verse as Project Future slash Dan and Mab's Furry Adventure and if it is I'd be surprised to learn that the human's deity is still around, considering there are no humans left alive on Furrae and all. The weres have a "human form" but are not considered to be "human".

Third: Now you've got me curious about Arbar as well. Are they a shapeshifter of sorts? Taking on various being forms, maybe based on who they are talking with. I could very well see a "Arbar is a <speaker's species>!" "No! They're a <second speaker's species>." sort of argument going on until it is generally agreed slash told by Arbar themself that Arbar is whatever being species they want to be at any given time.

Pax Drac is its own thing, otherwise it'd have been hosted on the same site as PF.

There are a few crossover characters such as Diego being the courier, but he's not an incubus in this story.

Setting the species and gender of Arbar is one reason they haven't been shown, but I can't put that off forever because we'll be showing a shrine to them next chapter.  They most likely do appear as different species or shapeshift between them.

It being on it's own site was one of the reasons I wasn't sure if it was set on Furrae or not yeah. Makes sense.

They are a deity, they can be above such things as gender and species. Now, as the deity of a species they should probably be a member of that species but that's not always the case so it'd be sort of funny if Arbar was actually a dragon.
Another factor of things is that as Arbar is the deity of "furres" and "furres" is a mixed species classification Arbar could be any one of them at any time, all of them at once as a sort of chimera like Friendship is Magic's Discord, or a mix of the two, like one moment having a lion's paw and then another moment that paw being an eagle's talon and so on. The problem comes with drawing such a character and whatever the artist is comfortable doing.
Maybe the easiest way of doing it would be "Arbar appears as the same species as whomever is looking at Arbar" and if you've got multiple people around Arbar is just a blank silhouette as a stand-in that everyone is seeing something different. So Arbar would never have an 'official' appearance and any shrine to them could just have a generic 'all furres' statue in their shrine or said shrine can just not have any images of Arbar and only their holy symbol or other such stand-ins for images.

There are tons of ways of going about it, and they don't have to mirror how things are done on our world.

Doesn't looks like it, since
should be the BBC code version.
