It took me a hot second to realize that our "actually" glorious leader (as opposed to my tendency to use the term sarcastically) had shape shifted a wing into a hand for panel 2. I was all set to point out the lack of a glove and weird arm angle before realizing what had actually happened.

You see Lady Finch, the trick to pulling off the old "Knock out and disguise yourself as the guard" trick is to make sure the guard stays knocked out long enough for you to escape. Having them logging into the same Zoom Call as yourself like this is downright comical.

I guess she was hoping she had a bit more time before he recovered.  But yes, 'cubi in DMFA are notorious for bad decisions and this is one occasion where that tracks (most of mine are arguably too sensible).

And yes, she was being gentle here because she wants something and doing anything permanent to Nigel would undermine her bargaining position in a terminal fashion.
