I do hope Bluff's mum was using a gentle tone of thought when she said that.

Anyway, it'll be interesting to see what challenges this planet has in store.

I feel like this comic is turning into DHS's counterpart to the Odyssey.

A central philosophical issue with worlds, possible or impossible, is how they represent what they represent. This is obviously connected to the problem of what kind of things they are. Perhaps impossible worlds are metaphysically different from possible worlds, and represent in a different way. Or perhaps they are metaphysically on par with possible worlds. Or, they may be taken as nonexistent objects. Or as abstract entities which represent by encoding...

Ulysses at least had company on his voyage, albeit generally foolish company. Bluff is having to face these perils all by his lonesome.

For that matter, Ulysses actually got to return home. Bluff seems to be in a place where each step he takes just leads him farther from home and makes it even less likely that he will ever be able to get back :cry . And he probably realizes it....
I kinda suspect that he's going to end up 'going native' as part of his character arc but knowing (or at least having very good reason to believe) that you've basically lost hope of reaching your loved ones again would be extremely rough.
