I find myself wondering if this is another trap. Also, with it being Mary, if she might cause more havoc than intended by who is responsible, by Mary falling into it.
I perfer my spam cooked on a skillet.

7-02 - It's not good when Mary is less scary than you

Poor R-ALF. Bet he'll be pleased if/when he graduates from the "fetch-and-carry" tasks to full adventuring status. Also, I like how it looks like he's baying at the moon in the last panel.

I think, therefor Mary scares me.  :cry

I'd argue that's a horribly shallow argument, except it's completely true. ~ooklah

Nice twist on Descartes's words. If I had been tempted by the notion of becoming an outlaw in Bounty Project-era Furrae, the prospect of Mary confiscating my brain would've been enough to dissuade me.

07-07 - I think that makes 3 adventures in progress

Sometimes the key to diplomacy is knowing who NOT to send. That said, Murphy's Law states that what can go wrong, WILL go wrong. My guess? They will be walking into the middle of a bunch of Technophobes that will want to burn our Android protagonist at the stake. It'll be a nice change of pace from all the anti-wing cults we keep running into.

...now watch as they are anti-Wing as well.  >:3

I'll concede the Luddite point to you, but five quid says it won't be burning at the stake.

Figure of speech. A combo of beheading, cremation, and spreading the ashes at a crossroads or over four separate bodies of running water still counts. After all, it is only Overkill until you find out it didn't work.

07-08 - Not a good first impression

A religious faith with "dragon" in their name. I think we can write off this ending peacefully for our heroes.

Fun fact, the dragon reference was a coincidence: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CrystalDragonJesus

Yeah, between the Crystal Dragon name and the poor bugger dangling from the gallows, I highly doubt these people are going to be paragons of rationality.

Oh I was just imagining the crystal dragons from heroes of might and magic 3 the whole time haha

It's doubtful that crystal dragons were a thing in DMFA, notwithstanding any of M'Chek's children caught in the city's destruction.

So you may as well keep imagining them because they're probably just as unreal in Furrae as they are here.

I considered referencing the TV Tropes page, but decided that an actual CDJ would have nothing to do with these guys.

Given that we still don't know what Pip's original form looked like, I wouldn't rule it out just yet.

Oh, I remembered that bit. But that was (presumably) a 1000+ year old Cubi, not a 20~40 year old Being. Also that bit about implants/prosthetics. Epona only knows how they would react to a Gastric Bypass.  :reaper

As long as it's done with magic, no problem.

However, joining flesh to machinery, they have more of a problem with.  I'm pretty sure this part was inspired by the theocratic state of Emm Luther in "Night Walk" by Bob Shaw - where the protagonist had the technical skills to produce an artificial eye, but the local religion forbade electronic implants.
