I think he means that... once Saturn gets the Shadowslayer's memories, she effectively stops being just Saturn. She gets centuries of new histories added to her and she can't just be that farmer's daughter who dreamed of being a swordsman who goes on cool adventures. It's... kinda sad.

It makes me wonder about Gerard's (Dog scaler from earlier) comment about how young she is. I wonder if the shadowslayer-to-be usually gets to just be herself a little longer before being passed the torch... sword.
