Plant are a property of Gaea (and also an essential part of living in general) so tricksters kinda lucked out when Jake decided(?) to use plants as reagents for spell casting.

Also I wish I knew before that flower petals could be used for illusions. Or... well... not much I could have done with it before, but now I know what I'll use it for heheh.
