Well, that puts a bit of a twist on things.  I wonder if Ada and her lot are also shooting in the dark, no pun intended?
Thinking about it I seem to recall something about the sun and moon goddess being bored, so it's entirely plausible that their followers are slaying each other for the amusement of deities who aren't even watching or keeping count anymore.
