It didn't occur to me before Merlin recently mentioned golems in another thread, but could Grain be one? Sure, he seems to be using trickster magic, but he does not sleep or tire, and losing an arm didn't cause him much blood loss. Sounds pretty much like what one would expect from a golem, right?
