I really wonder how exactly it is Light and Dark magic work though.... Claw doesn't seem to be bleeding but the light magic seemed to cut right through her?? How does light do that???

Light magic is crazy powerful (during the day). It can pretty much take any form. And be able to cut somebody so quickly and thinly that it takes a while for them to start bleeding (like a Japanese samurai movie, haha). Can also cauterise as it cuts, but it doesn't always.
