I'm guessing these guys just got back from Earth to find this usurper taking advantage of their leave of absence. I must say, while Azrael looks quite good in his leather suit, Yak(ovlev)'s tie-dye just looks silly on him.

I don't think he punched anyone - I think he knocked them down with his wings. Or so it seems to me; I could well be wrong in that interpretation.
