Okay, so I was doing some random surfing and I came across this little Japanese 2D platformer called Cave Story.

I've managed to get to the bad ending...

but I was playing it off of a thumb drive, and that drive broke.

HUZZAH! I haven't personally played it, but I watched Deceased Crab's LP of it, and I will  hear Balrog with Deceased Crab's voice for the rest of eternity. He was an amazing Balrog.

I would play myself, but I'm horrible with platformers, and that looks like a brutal game. Fun brutal, but still brutal.

I got the bad ending, and I think I also got what counts as the great ending (that final boss is something else).

I've started playing.

I've died at least five times and I've only just gotten past the optional Balrog fight. I THINK I'M BAD AT THIS GAME. I would make a Let's Fail, but all the deaths are the same.

THe X robot is, IMO, the most annoying boss, 'cause you have to dodge what it shoots at you and the tank treads, and there's a bit of a walk to get to it from the last save point with some tricky elevator platforms.
(what the 'bot turns out to be when you beat it, on the other hand...)

Nah, that one's still pretty easy: just stick him with the Blade a lot and back it up with Polar Star Shots for the first phase, then use the Bubbler liberally on the second phase for nigh-immunity to his lame projectiles.

Cave Story's weird like that: the entire game is pitifully easy (though still surpisingly fun/awesome/full-of-win/you-get-the-point) until you hit Hell, at which point the level suddenly lives up to its name. At least, if you're trying to speedrun it. Still pretty simple except for Ballos himself, if you take it easy, but if you're going through at high speed then Hell can be pretty epic.

ah, but you see, the thing is: you don't suck at this kind of game(I assume).

Given my propensity for fail, the long walk to get back to the boss after each death is quite annoying because I had to make it tens of times.
